Nuggets From The Nets

The video below is not from a video game. It's real. DC Shoes and stunt-driver Ken Block take the "Gymkhana" series to the streets of San Francisco with Gymkhana 5, a tour-de-force of precision driving that looks like it came right out of Gran Turismo 5 or Grand Theft Auto 4. Dirt: Showdown even gets a shout at the end of the vid!

It's ridiculonkulous. Click play:

Game Of Thrones Meets Super Mario World In NESteros

Redditor Titan413 used the power of creativity and MS Paint to recreate the continent of Westeros from the epic fantasy series Game of Thrones using the world map from Super Mario World. Everything's there, including Winterfell and the Heart Tree, The Wall, Kings Landing, The Eyrie, and more. You can check out the full image of NESteros after the break.

We've all played games where one hero can take out dozens, if not hundreds, of enemies all by himself (or herself). Rarely do we ever stop and wonder how the enemies we're massacring must feel. This video by fatawesomefilms does just that. After watching this I have a new appreciation for AI baddies.

It's fun to play Max Payne, no doubt, but it isn't fun to be Max Payne. Old Maxxy has a misery filled existence with nothing but narcotics to ease his emotional distress. Even when he's watering his plants, it's pain. Max pain. Check out "A Day in the Life of Max Payne," a hilarious video from YouTube user TimTimFed.

The chilling The Last of U trailer has been recreated in LittleBigPlanet2. Man, that's some serious Sony synergy. (Say that 10 times fast.) It was created by YouTuber TheClassicEvil. This The Last of Us/LBP2 mash-up took two weeks to make and the effort is apparent. See for yourself!

We came across this Nugget From The Net thanks to Naughty Dog's Jason Paul.

Diablo 3 is undoubtedly a gorgeous game and thanks to YouTube user Malu05a we can now see the action role-playing game from a whole new angle. This video was made using the Diablo 3 machinima tool and shows off how much detail truly is in Blizzard's most successful PC game to date.

As someone who spends a lot of my time in Act 3 farming Siegebreaker and other rare items, I found this video beautifully mesmerizing. What did you think? Let us know in the comments section.

Mass Effect 3 Hipster Star Child Knew About The Reapers Before You Did

Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC includes a cameo by Hipster Star Child.

Among the things added with the fan-demanded add-on were answers to some of the questions left answer the end of Mass Effect 3... but not all of them. In the new ending content, the Star Child has more information for the more inquisitive Commander Shepards out there, but Star Child doesn't feel like giving up all his information: When asked about his creators he responds, "You would not know them, and there is not enough time to explain." At first we thought this kid was messing with us, but then we realized he's only being Hipster Star Child.

Zelda Temple 3D Artwork Is Hauntingly Mesmerizing

There are a lot of places in the video game spectrum that I'd love to visit if I had the chance. Can you imagine walking through the cobblestone streets of Stormwind or up the frigid mountains in Tamriel? Well, you won't be doing either of those anytime soon, but with Whitney Brown's amazing works of art, you may be able to envision yourself in one of Hyrule's temples sooner than you'd think.

These Zelda temple images, according to Brown, were modeled, textured, and lit with Cinema 4D, with finishing touches done in Photoshop. They were the final project in her 3D Form and Space class, and if I was grading these, they'd definitely get an "A+".  You can find the second one after the break.

Video game D.I.Y. projects are always fun. I've created some Pokemon jewelery and collected other people's creations over the years. (Etsy is a great site to get these handmade products from). Portal 2 Sentry Turret Statue Coming From Gaming Heads Later This Year

Gaming Heads, crafters of high-end gaming merchandise, are coming out with this very limited edition Portal 2 sentry turret statue. The amazing little turret measures approximately 16 inches tall and it's got a motion sensor in front, so when you wave your hand in front of it it'll play sounds from the game.

The piece is pretty expensive though, and will set you back $324.99 when it's released later this year. But seriously, if you're a die-hard Portal 2 fan, this might be one statue that you need in your collection. For more info on the statue, head over to the Gaming Heads website.

If  upcoming Tim Burton film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was an 8-bit sidescroller, this is what it'd probably look like.

20th Century Fox commissioned Freddie Wong and Brandon Laatch to create a special integration to promote "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter" hitting theaters Friday, and while it's not exactly the most interesting-looking game ever, the video is still pretty imaginative.  Click "play" and check it out!

Texts From Video Gaming Companies -- Nugget From The Net

Among pictures of puppies, the "Texts From ___" craze is one of my favorite things on the net. Today our phone's buzzing with texts from video game companies, and they're as hysterical as you'd hope. There are a few more after the break from companies like Nintendo, Rare, Capcom, EA, Sega, and Sony. If you're a fan of this type of thing you won't want to miss these pictures. They're really funny!

This Legend of Zelda nursery video has been popping up all over the web and we wanted to make sure you saw it. YouTube user Fijidublin spent three months hand-painting the nursery (with the help of his friend Wes) in anticipation for the birth of his son. Its features artwork from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Pretty awesome, huh?

The Team Fortress 2 Gang As The Avengers

If the world was worth saving, I'm not sure that I'd want the Team Fortress 2 crew coming to save the day. But the TF2 gang with the powers of The Avengers? Now we're talking. This piece of art popped up on Reddit and we're not sure who the original artist is, but we love the picture. Especially the Engineer as Iron Man.

For the full picture, check after the read more tag. And if you drew this let us know in the comments section.
