Nuggets From The Nets

Because Attack of the Show blogger/amazingperson Moye Ishimoto is such a hipster, she sometimes sends me awesome videos from indie bands you probably haven't heard of. Like the video below.

I Love Lightning Bugs are obviously huge fans of indie platformer Limbo, and have created an inspiring video based on the game for their song "Not the Hopeless Kind." Not only is it based on Limbo, but it has tons of cryptozoological imagery. I dig it, daddy-o. You can buy the album here.

My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic is a freeware indie game made for bronies, by bronies. The game, which is still currently in development, will boast a 17-character roster when complete. The list list will include one non-pony, which I assume is the baby dragon, Spike.

The first official release will include: Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie, the remaining 11 will be added with DLC. I call dibs on Fluttershy, by the way.

My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic  has no legal ties to Hasbro, the owners of the Pony IP. It's being developed by Mane6 and will be free when it's released on the PC. I will personally keep you up to date on this title!

Chrono Trigger Fan Art

Artist Sylvia T. Leung has meshed characters from two beloved series, Chrono Trigger and Winnie-The-Pooh, to create this nostalgic painting entitled "Chrono Tigger." I'm pretty confident that you can tell who's who in the painting, but for the record we've got little Piglet as Lucca, Pooh Bear as Robo, and Tigger as Crono.  Now we just need someone else to draw up the rest of the gang. There's still so many characters to choose from, including my favorite, Eeyore. Who would Eeyore be?

For the full image check after the break.

I don't know about you, but the whole time I was playing Portal 2's co-op mode, I was wishing thos eloveable robots P-Body and ATLAS were walking around on a city street, bustin' caps and slappin' foos. Luckily, YouTube user taltigolt mashed up Grand Theft Auto 4 and Portal 2 to bring you this amazing video:

Start your day watching Conan O'Brien play Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. The ongoing Clueless Gamer series sees the nighttime talk show host taking on the popular video games of the day and offering his thoughts on them. This latest edition's choice of game was actually chosen by a fan vote, and the Internet masses voted overwhelmingly in favor of the blocky world-building game.

Conan's verdict: gamers have really, really poor eyesight and Minecraft is essentially a simulation of impoverished living in 19th century Wales. Also, his kid can draw better monsters than the game's skeleton mobs. This is what happens when average citizens take their first steps into the world of video games; it's a surreal and scary place where nothing makes sense, everyone hops around like bunnies, and the word "teabag" is uproariously funny for some reason.

The Dark Knight Rises is on everyone's mind right now. The final movie in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy featured a pretty perturbed Bane. At one point in the film, Bane gives a speech denouncing The Dark Knight's hero turned bad guy, Harvey Dent. Naturally, anything Bane can do, Mark Hamill's Joker can do better. At least that's what YouTuber Pgirts thinks. Check out Bane's speech but in the Joker's voice below.

WARNING: Spoilers ahoy! This is the actual dialouge from the film. If you have not seen the film, and do not want to know what is said, don't watch. Duh!

A newly released mod for Skyrim adds a touch of Minecraft to Tamriel's snowy north (via Kotaku). This is The. Best. Mod. Technically, mods. Just watch the video. You've got a Steve Craft follower, zombies that punch, exploding creepers, pig mounts, and blocky weapons. Also, pig mounts. Yes, I said that already. Don't you think it bears repeating?

There's nothing quite as awesome or epic as seeing Steve Craft fire arrow after arrow into a dragon soaring overhead, as you can in the above video. Or your character's Skyrim hands punching a zombie in the face. That's pretty fantastic too. You can add this mod collection to your Steam version of the game with ease by clicking Subscribe in Steam Workshop.

Digital creative agency Reverse Enginears have created this awesome musical composition on the history of PC games using only sounds and music from PC games. Take a stroll down memory lane with the video below, and embrace the nostalgia. I must admit, it wasn't until pretty late in the video that I started to recognize some of the first PC games that I played.

There are some games that are just better with another person, and for these two lovebirds, that game happened to be Halo 3. Five years after they met one another in a Halo 3 lobby and two years after being in a long distance, videogame-driven relationship, the two met in person and got to give one another a very real life hug.

If this doesn't make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, then knowing that the couple is now engaged might. Speaking from experience, long distance can be tough, but being able to play video games with your best friend always makes it better!

Left 4 Dead Corgi Cosplay -- Come Get Your Puppy Pills

This picture of Left 4 Dead corgi cosplay was Tweeted by Kotaku's Tina Amini and while we're not sure who these incredibly well trained and adorable dogs belong to, or which convention they cosplayed at, we can confirm that they are absolutely amazing. I'm no stranger to cosplaying puppies, so take it from me when I say if you liked these critters then you should check out the Okami cosplay dog from a while ago, too.

Thanks, Tina.

Cosplay is an exhibition, not a competition, but if there was a winner of Cosplay at Comic-Con 2012, it was the fellow in the GIF below, cosplaying as the hapless runner from QWOP.

Just One More Hat from YouTube user burningfajitasalt rivals some of the best Team Fortress 2 videos, including the ones in the "Meet The Class" series. In it, a Scout sings Just One More Hat to the beat of Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid. Just watch it, it's awesome.

I've posted the lyrics, created by Ken Ashcorp, after the break so you can sing along.
