Nuggets From The Nets

The Silly Adventures of Mr. Mochi from YouTuber TheNinjaCowboy is the greatest piece of Machinima I'ever ever seen in the last few minutes. It combines the timeless music of Tiny Tim with the most ridiculous mods ever... please, watch it... but don't blame me if you never, ever stop watching.

Mr. Mochi is my new God and I pledge to live my life based on His example.

StarCraft 2 Shoes: Nugget From The Net

In anticipation for MLG Anaheim this weekend, one creative Redditor got some awesome custom StarCraft 2 shoes made by Diversitile. There are three different pairs, one for each race in SC2: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran. No mention on the price of these kicks, but I'd say they're pretty fashionable to say the least.

To check out the Protoss and Terran shoes check after the break.

Move over, Justin Bieber. Chris McCammon is the next pop sensation to be discovered via YouTube, so sayeth I. Why, you wonder? Well, because he took the song "Forget You" by Cee Lo Green and parodied it via Minecraft to come up with "I Banned You," a catchy little jingle that reminds us all about the dangers and annoyances of online gaming. Namely: griefers. Check out the video below and then check out McCammon's YouTube channel for more Minecraft madness.

Seems like a nice kid. I wish him the best of luck dealing with the harsh realities of Minecraft life, where nothing is constant but death, taxes, griefers and creepers.

As I speak thousands of nerds are collapsed upon their keyboards, arms weary of carrying pounds of schwag and LEGO superhero playsets. The five day madness known as Comic-Con has come to an end, but that doesn't mean the geek train will stop rolling. Check out this week's Links of TheFeed for a second helping of awesome.

Fleet Commander is the amazing strategy game developed at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory by MS graduate candidate Arthur Nishimoto. The amazing project uses TacTile, a multi-touch display, to allow you to deploy cruisers, destroyers, corvettes, fighters, bombers, and "mighty superweapons" to win an epic space battle.

Check out the video below, where Fleet Commander has been ported to EVL's 20-food wide multi-touch LCD wall called the Cyber Commons.

Go ahead and check out the Fleet Commander website for more information on this fascinating game.

Team Fortress 2 Arcade -- An 8-Bit Reimagining Of TF2

Team Fortress 2 Arcade is the latest game to get the Eric Ruth treatment. He's the guy who made 8-bit inspired remakes of DJ Hero, Left 4 Dead and Halo. His latest creation takes on the most popular online shooter, Team Fortress 2.

TF2 Arcade is a classic beat-em up style arcade game starring everyone's favorite cast of classes. Think Turtles in Time, but awesome. Team Fortress Arcade will have 4-player co-op, nine stages and TF2 inspired extras.

PikiGeek spoke with Eric Ruth about the game and even recorded a gameplay demo. The video is after the break.

"StarCraft Universe" is the rebirth of the StarCraft 2 MMO mod "World of StarCraft" that took the collective StarCraft 2 and World of Warcraft communities by storm last January. Ryan "Creation" Winzen and his team have just released a new raid trailer for the SC2 mod and it is absolutely stunning. Shown in the video are things like character creation, spells, abilities, and epic raid environments. I don't want to spoil everything, but keep an eye out for the fight against the Mutalisks in the video, it's awesome.

What do you think of StarCraft Universe? Does this look like a mod you're interested in? According to Winzen, the mod won't see a full release until after the launch of StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, he said in an interview Pixelated Geek. On the bright side, we'll be able to test out the PvP before Blizzcon in October.

Dorkly created the hilarious Super Mario with a portal gun video, and now they've outdone themselves with Zelda: A Link To The Past with a portal gun. My favorite part is when Link throws a cuckoo through the portal. Check it out.

What game do you want to see Dorkly insert portal guns in to next?

It looks like the next video game to make its way to the silver computer screen is Bomberman. The lovable series about explosives has been re-imagined as a super dramatic movie trailer from the same folks who brought you Dunk Hunt: The Movie. These kids really love their video game inspired fan fics; all the power to them!

Half-Life fans have been left with plenty of time on their hands as they wait for the release of the final HL2 expansion, Episode Three, which has been on deck since The Orange Box came out in 2007. That's probably why there are so many fan films. Not that any of us can complain when stuff like "Singularity Collapse" (above) is so well put together.

The use of a first-person perspective is cool, but the real rewards -- which I won't spoil -- come in during the final third of director/producer Leonard Menchiari's fan-serving short film.

Tim Schafer's video games are funny. And his new family-friendly fare Once Upon A Monster looks to continue that streak. But how did Once Upon A Monster come to be? Was it the first idea Schafer pitched to executives? Get a behind-the-scenes look at how to pitch a video game, courtesy of Schafer and the hilarious team at Double Fine:

Man, I've been there, Tim. Prepare accordingly, aspiring developers! Cookies are an instant win for any office presentation.

Aspects of the Pokemon series acted out in real life and upload on YouTube aren't exactly new. However, Pokemon In Real Life 2 made me laugh out loud. Smosh decided to take on the world of Pokemon, again, and this time they have better costumes. No, really, their Mankey costume is amazing. I would wear that, everywhere.

YouTube cat videos are nothing new. YouTube cat videos crossed with EA's Medal of Honor however, that's something we can really put our paws up for. Digital wizard Freddie Wong has pieced together this extremely well-done video, Medal of Honor Cat, featuring Mr. Meowmers, the bravest cat who ever did live.

And you thought all cats did was play with yarn or pounce on keyboards. This isn't Wong's only video game crossover into the real(?) world either. He also rolled us up in a Katamari and gave us a crying Indian commercial spoof for PC gamers. Make sure to check them all out!
