The Don of EA Sports, Peter Moore, celebrates his first year on the job by introducing his company's latest plans during the EA press conference in last week's Games Convention 2008 at Leipzig, Germany.

Moore said that EA Sports looks on to "globalizing the brand" (we want Air Moores!) through the company's latest features such as the Freestyle games sub-brand including Facebreaker and Celebrity Sports Showdown. The Wii's All Play titles are looking to add depth in sports gameplay through Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All Play. And, Moore introduced EA Sports's first experience with a tennis racket.

Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software, speaks to the masses about his company's upcoming FPS masterpiece, Rage, during EA's press conference at last week's Games Convention 2008 at Leipzig, Germany.

Hollenshead said that Rage is the company's most promising FPS title yet, weaving together "believable characters" and a "compelling storyline" with "the FPS action that has made [id Software] famous". Rage is also the company's first venture with the third party mega publisher.

Rage, published by Electronic Arts, will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Macintosh platforms. No estimated release schedules have been disclosed as of yet.

EA Mythic executive producer Jeff Hickman and creative director Paul "The Crazy Director" Barnett gives the surprising truth about EA's highly anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, during last week's Games Convention 2008 at Leipzig, Germany.

So as you will see below, the "crazy" one said forget what you read about Warhammer, it's all about "English Xenophobia". And if you've noticed the game characters, they're not what they seem, as Barnett suggested, "They're not High Elves, they're English posh people." Just fancy the video:

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, developed by Mythic Entertainment, will be out this September 18 for the PC.

EA Sports executive producer Andrew Wilson introduces their latest soc...excuse us, "football" title, FIFA Soccer 09 (or Football 09), during last week's Games Convention 2008 at Leipzig, Germany.

Wilson said that this latest sports title from EA will "redefine what football means on next generation consoles" with its new feature: the ADIDAS Live Season. This latest feature will allow "real world play" to come in your title via weekly updated stats, rosters and much more.

FIFA Soccer 09, developed by EA Canada, will be out this October 14 for the PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and PC platforms.

They wouldn't call it the Leipzig game show, of course, but the company behind Europe's biggest video game extravaganza is mulling the idea of coming to North America.

“The concept is flexible and the network of the global games industry permits us to be active at different locations. After the Southeast Asian Games Convention, we are now focusing on the North American market,” said Leipziger Messe boss Wolfgang Marzin.

Wolfgang, please! Come to our country with your video game show!
