E3 2011 -- 360 Degree Camera: Running Of The Geeks

Every year for E3, we try and do something special for G4 viewers, something beyond interviews, previews, screenshot galleries and demos. This year, we've outdone ourselves. Using space-age, science fiction video technology, we bring you deeeeeep inside the convention itself, with a 360 view. Want to see what's happening behind the cameraman? Just drag the camera around and look. You can look anywhere. It's the closest you can possibly get to being at E3, and it doesn't smell bad!

We pointed our special cameras at the opening of the E3 doors, to catch "The Running of the Geeks," the opening of the show when the video game faithful flood into the convention center in one seething mass of geekdom. Check out our E3 2011 Running of the Geeks 360 video.

Even through we're all in the middle of E3 madness, it's still Thursday, which means we have to give you a new MMO Report. Since Casey's busy gracing the Los Angeles Convention Center with his presence, we've got an episode we shot last week where he tried to predict what MMOs we'll be seeing at E3 2011. Did he get them all right? Find out through G4tv.com's intensive E3 coverage and let us know how he did.

Adam Sessler is deeply embedded at E3 2011, where the biggest news of the show is the introduction of Nintendo's new console, the Wii U. The system is a bit perplexing, with its controller with a built-in screen and focus on both hardcore and casual audiences, so Adam is taking a wait-and-see attitude toward the device.

Check out Sessler's Soabox below, for Sess's always-enlightened, always-amusing reaction to the Wii U!

In this behind the scenes episode of Sessler's Soapbox, Adam gives his thoughts on the first day of E3 2011's Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, and EA Press Conferences. Into The Pixel 2011 Winners Announced: Check Out The Artwork

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and the Entertainment Software Association puts together a jury of experts each year who select video game artwork to be a part of Into the Pixel. Today, they are announcing 17 works that will become a part of this installation that will travel around the world, beginning at E3 2011, which you can check out right here.

"Now that public institutions have accepted video games as a legitimate form of art, there is no question that video game art has and will continue to have a place in the contemporary art scene," said Martin Rae, president of the AIAS, thereby thumbing his nose at Roger Ebert. When you see these pieces of work up close, either on the screen or in a gallery, there's no denying that a lot of artistic skill and love goes into these pieces, which include work from unreleased games like BioShock Infinite, Orcs Must Die!, Uncharted 3, and more.

Seeing is believing, so head after the break where you can take a look at all of the pieces that were selected, along with a list of the winners.

Everyone's still talking about LA Noire in the G4 office. Why? Because it's awesome, but many of you disagree. In fact, enough of you have been voicing negative opinions about the game that The Sess had to respond. On this week's Soapbox, Adam discusses the finer points of LA Noire and explains why he thinks some of your opinions may be just plain wrong.

Recently, we got the chance to sit down with Ken Levine, the creator of the Bioshock franchise, and we chopped it up about various aspects of his upcoming sure-to-be epic game BioShock Infinite.

The combat in Infinite sounds amazing. Players have a cohort, Elizabeth, who has a unique power: She can reach through "Tears" in space-time and bring in objects to help you battle your foes. "Everyone in Columbia can see these tears through which they can see things that are not part of our world but could exist in our world," Levine explains. "Elizabeth has the ability to reach into these tears and bring them into our world."

Tears might reveal a turret, a skyline (those roller-coaster style tracks in Infinite) and a Founder (one of the city fathers of Columbia), and it will be up to you to choose which of the three things to bring into reality. For a deeper explanation, and a lot of other Infinite tidbits, check out the video below:
