The Dragon's Dogma opening theme song is "Intro Free-Dangan" by B'z and here at G4 we were inspired by this awesome song. We were so inspired, in fact,  we created our very own [un]official Dragon's Dogma music video created by me, Donell "Dragonslayer" Tucker. Without further ado, enjoy this anime inspired music video for Dragon's Dogma, that Capcom will probably approve, right?

Skyrim

Though Japanese RPGs have a firm template in place for how each release from that stable should be approached, Western RPGs have always been scattershot. Isometric visions of apocalyptic wastelands, sprawling high fantasy tales rife with warring factions, and even the gambles that mimic a J-RPG, right down to the party's mannerisms and four-disc spread of content – remember PlayStation's Shadow Madness?

All the different approaches, however, do not necessarily demonstrate that the genre has been moving forward. In fact, despite the staggering success of games like Skyrim, there are some building blocks that could surely be rearranged to compile a more ambitious role-playing game. I've rounded up three key components I believe would work swimmingly, and could improve upon player engagement and immersion factor – and in doing so, create a better RPG overall.

Getting To Know You

First, let's look at the factor of player interaction with that of the faithful battle party. An immediate example that comes to mind demonstrating a step in the right direction is BioWare's Mass Effect/Dragon Age stable. While both franchises aren't without their own respective flaws, they go to great lengths to offer aspiring party leads choices, back stories, and camaraderie. More specifically, character relationships – some that could obviously be expanded fully, but relationships nevertheless.

Both titles assign more than a face, class, and skill set to the faces that comprise your battle party – they give meaning to your conflicts and serve as a means to ignite that explorer's spark. You wan to see Tali for who she is beyond the mask. You're moved to sympathize with Thane Krios. Your underlings become treasured – such as you completely losing it at critical junctures of Mass Effect and its sequel, where one party member must be lost, and others' loyalties demolished.

Street Fighter IV

Ask the average gamer how Street Fighter correlates to poker and chances are, you're probably going to get a puzzled stare. Before I attended Seth Killian's lecture on game design in fighting games last year, I was certain that people like Hevad 'Rainkhan' Khan, who placed sixth in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event, and online legend Randy 'Nanako' Lew were flukes. Now, I'm not so sure.

Earlier this month, I called up professional Street Fighter player Arturo Sanchez to ask him about the similarities between poker players and professional Street Fighter players. He told me that I would have to learn the game first. That's how I got here. It's 7'o clock in the morning and Arturo Sanchez, his voice nasally from a recent flu, is breaking down his after-hours match from Evo 2009 over Skype.

"We were doing it just for fun, but people decided to make bets." Arturo Sanchez is one of the rare few who can comment so flippantly on an encounter with Daigo Umehara, the current Guinness World holder for 'most successful player in major tournaments of Street Fighter'. As 'The Beast' of the competitive Street Fighter landscape appears on the screen, Sanchez grins. "I think $20, 000 USD or so exchanged hands that night."

"Street Fighter is about position and space control." Sanchez explains as he draws a line across two thirds of the screen, the characters frozen in place; Umehara is playing Ryu, Sanchez has Dhalsim."See this? This is Dhalsim's optimal range. This is my sweet spot. Daigo can't cross this line without being punished and he knows this."

Check out what he has to say about this fine gift from Eastern Europe.

The Witcher 2 Xbox 360 vs. PC comparison video offers you a side by side comparison between the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition and the PC version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

We set the video settings on the PC to the highest, which is on 'Ultra Specs' and we did not change the levels on brightness or gamma. On the Xbox 360, we installed the game and ran it on 1080p with the default brightness/gamma levels. Take it from me, there were no alterations to make one look better than the other one. See for yourself the differences and similarities between the two platforms and leave a comment below letting us know which platform you think looks better.
