ComicCon

If you're going to go to next year's Comic-Con I have a few words of advice: bring lots of cash. Comic-Con is filled to the brim with vendors selling every nerd toy you can imagine. There are limited edition action figures, dolls, and collectibles. Don't believe me? Check out this booth with Bif Bang Pow! toys. And yes, that is Talking Tina from the Twilight Zone.  Bif Bang Pow! makes tons of geeky toys like limited edition Dexter toys and a Dr. Who Tardis bobblehead.

Don’t ask us how (seriously, it’s dark, dark stuff) but the G4 crew somehow survived the tsunami of geekdom that is Comic-Con, and even though the show is (thankfully) growing smaller and smaller in our collective rearview mirrors, its insanity will live forever in our memories. Although, for immediacies sake, Adam Sessler and the rest of this week’s Feedback crew, aka Blair Herter, Kevin Kelly, and Nikole Zivalich, decided to get together to relive and recap their Comic-Con 2011 experiences for your viewing and listening pleasure...sadly, not in costumes.

Chris Elliot is a comedian with a cult following, and his new show Eagleheart is a hit as part of the Adult Swim schedule. At Comic-Con 2011, Chris Elliot, Maria Thayer, and Michael Gladis took some time out of their busy schedules to talk to us about the show. Find out what they think of the show's over the top gore, 15-minute format and Adult Swim in this interview with the Eagleheart cast!

Children's Hospital, which is part of the Adult Swim lineup, is an adorable little comedy about some doctors who. . .oh wait. It's actually a dark, twisted, and hilarious romp starring a creepy clown? Ok, that's more awesome.

We got a chance to talk to the stars of Children's Hospital at Comic-Con 2011. Hear from the show's creator Rob Corddry about Season 3, learn how Malin Akerman got on the show, and what Ken Marino, Megan Mullally and others love about Children's Hospital.

Comic-Con has been described as geek mecca, mostly by me, but I'm a valid source. Comic-Con earned this title by offering fans a first hand look at comics, movies and of course, video games. There was a massive amount of video game panels and you can bet your bottom dollar that we covered them.

One of my favorite reveals of Comic-Con was Assassin's Creed: Embers. It's a short film telling the story of Ezio's life after Assassin's Creed Revelations.

BioWare released a new trailer for their upcoming Star Wars massively multiplayer online role playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic called "Join The Fight" during Comic-Con 2011. It goes through the classes available in the game and shows off both the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire fighting against one another, but the real question surrounding the trailer is which side will you choose? Most of the video features in-game footage, but one thing missing from the trailer is the release date. Argh!

The Walking Dead Screenshot Shambles Forth From Telltale Games

The Walking Dead has a screenshot thanks to a post-Comic-Con 2011 release from Telltale Games. In case you've been living under a rock - or zombie-proof bunker - The Walking Dead is a graphic novel by writer Robert Kirkman that's won several prestigious awards, including the Eisner for Best Continuing Series at San Diego Comic-Con 2010.

It has since been adapted to a successful AMC series about to start its second season, and now Telltale Games, makers of story-driven adventure titles like Back to the Future and Jurassic Park, are trying their hand at a video game version. While nothing is known about gameplay, the screenshot above certainly captures the graphic novel's look, a definite plus for anyone who feels the AMC series has strayed too far from the comic roots. Notice how the shading on the man's shirt is actually a series of lines, and the harsh contrast that gives the whole thing a sort of oil painting vibe.

Yeah, I took some art classes in my day. What of it? And what are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!

Sony's Starhawk Panel at Comic-Con

Starhawk, Sony's upcoming sci-fi shooter that comes with a heavy dose if RTS build strategy elements, drew the unlucky straw at Comic-Con of a very early morning panel on Sunday. For the uninitiated, Sunday morning is when everyone has to drag themselves out of bed and pump two liters of coffee into their veins in order to get going.

But that didn't matter to the hardcore PlayStation 3 fans who showed up to hear Starhawk's creative director Lars DeVore (LightBox Interactive), senior producer Harvard Bonin (SCEA Santa Monica Studio), studio director John Hight (SCEA Santa Monica Studio), and  writer, Koen Wooten, talk about this game that we're already huge fans of.
