Despite the comedy of the Stewart/Colbert '08 posters and bumper stickers that have made the rounds, there is no truth that either of them will be running for office any time soon. It is true, however, that Colbert will be voicing the President of the United States in the upcoming Monsters vs. Aliens flick.

Also voicing characters in this DreamWorks animated throwback are Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, Rainn Wilson, Kiefer Sutherland and Paul Rudd.

Did you know Hugh Laurie is British? That blows my mind.

'Kiss 4K' is Going Online

Issue 7 of the rock superhero odyssey known as Kiss 4K is only going to be an online adventure. Sales of the print books have been good, but some comic book dudes are quick to caution that it doesn't signal the end or decline of the comic; yet it shows Gene Simmons' continuing commitment to being on the forefront of technology when it comes to entertainment. What's likely to happen is we'll see a graphic novel compilation coming out once more issues have been released online.

blabbermouth.net says "Kiss 4K is the story of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and other bandmembers' transformation from rock stars to world-protecting warrior spirits," so if you haven't checked it out you should probably pick it up. It's likely to melt your face with rock, in a good way.

If you'll recall, we did a story about a Spaced remake in the Fall that was annoying Simon Pegg and the show's U.K. director Edgar Wright, who were not consulted on a new FOX remake that was in development. Read it here if you like.

Well, FOX has now ordered the pilot and at least the first episode will get made. Nothing illegal has been doneas FOX owns the US rights, but to not approach them about it seems odd. Only time will tell how badly this latest US ripoff of a British series will pan out.

Leno to Stay on 'Tonight Show'?

NBC is quietly positioning itself to keep Jay Leno on the air beyond his contracted step down as the Tonight Show host in late 2009. They haven't said for sure if he'll stay as the Tonight Show host or if it will be in some other capacity, maybe even prime time. Well, it's hard to imagine they'd give up an hour every night in prime time and keeping him in the Tonight Show host spot would mean they would have to pay a breech of contract penalty to Conan O'Brien of a reported $40 million.

Jay has also been courted by FOX and ABC although its unclear in what capacity he would work for them. One things for sure, Conan is the voice of a younger, now growing older, more moneyriffic generation and if NBC wants to stay on top of late night, they need to be smart about the transition.

Spielberg says he doesn't want to show Indy 4 in digital. Say WHA? Most theatres in the country have made the switch to digital projection, which would make it difficult if not impossible to show the movie. We're not sure why Spielberg has made such a call especially considering Lucas, his bestest buddy, is all about the digi, even going so far as to go back and digi up his classics.

C'mon, Steve. Let's be real here, just you and me. C'mere. Nah nah, c'mere.

Like 50 Cent before him, hip hop mega-producer Dr. Dre is getting into the beverages business.

Yes, it was announced today that the good Dr. is an equity owner in a new beverage venture with Drinks American Holdings Inc. that will produce and market both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. The first product under the new deal is a premium cognac, followed by a new sparkling vodka.

"I'm always down for a new challenge," Dr. Dre said in a statement. "When Drinks Americas approached me about going into business with them, I knew there was a lot of competition out there but it was the same way when I started doing music. I'm going to put the best product out there, because that's what I do."

Dominic Monaghan of Lost and LOTR fame has been added to the cast of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine flick. Monaghan will be playing the part of Barnell, who along the way has been depowered, so we're curious how they're going to deal with that. Also announced was that Daniel Henney, a relative unknown, will play the much more interesting character of Agent Zero.

Of course, we're aware that given the track record of the X-Men movie franchise, they might just completely ignore whole sections of the mythos and make a complete pile of dog poo, so then there's that.

Dave Grohl and his band, The Foo Fighters, are suing Marvel Comics over the unauthorized use of "substantial excerpts" from Best of You and Free Me which appear in the trailer for the new Wolverine and the X-Men animated series. In typical legal pull-back form, the video has been yanked by the studio from all the sites where it might have been seen before.

TheFeed has enough collective respect for both of these entities to not make a joke related to either in this space. Please feel free to make one of your own.

Akira Coming to Life

Leonardo DiCaprio's production company is backing a Warner Bros. live-action adaptation of Akira which has long been in the making. It will mark the directorial debut of Ruairi Robinson who won an Oscar for Fifty Percent Grey, his animated comedy sci-fi short from 2001.

In a disappointing move, the adaptation will be set in New Manhattan. *sigh* When are they going to realize you can't just put New in front of something and change a few of the signs, expecting us to accept that it's the future. The world of the original Akira was so rich and unique visually. We hope they adhere to that portion of the o.g. anime and manga.

No word on cast yet for this two-film epic that will see the first installment in the Summer of 2009. May we suggest Michael Cera for the part of Akira?

Madonna is planning to release her directorial debut, Filth And Wisdom, online via iTunes.

The low-budget comedy (?) tells the tale of a Ukranian musician who pays his way by moonlighting as a dominatrix. It premiered at the Berlin Film Festival a few weeks ago to scathing reviews.

"I want the most amount of people to see the film as possible,” she recently told WENN.

‘Cause lord knows that the direct-to-iTunes release is a proven winner in the movie biz!

“I don't do anything conventionally,” she added.

Clearly.

Jane Fonda's Sailor Mouth

My goodness graciousnesses. a 70-year-old Miss Jane Fonda dropped the c-bomb on the Today Show… well, earlier today. She was asked about her involvement in a recent production of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues. The producers of the play wanted her to do the monologue called "(c-bomb)" and she turned it down cuz she from da south and ain't heared of it.

But don't worry, later in the show, host Meredith Vieira apologized for Fonda's "c" slip and in the rebroadcast versions of the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones, NBC covered for it with a still photo of Fonda's face and blank audio. Nice cover. I'm sure that looked REAL natural.

Southern Belle? No.
Man's Lady? You betcha.

Now, I think I might could get fired for linking you to the video of this slip, but trust me, it's out there. At least for now.

You can also watch this which is quite funny and oddly related.

This Just In:  Celebrities are losing money in the real estate market in Southern California.
This Also Just In:  HA HA HA HA!!!!!!

The recent downturn in the national housing market is crunching people at all levels of income including the rich and famous. Folks like Avril Lavigne, Slash, Wilmer Valderrama, and Ed McMahon all have had houses on the market for a while and have been forced to drop their asking price. TheFeed is sad to learn that, for instance, Avril will only be getting $5,800,000 for her five-bedroom, six-bath house in Beverly Hills.

It is a sad day for such a cute, little Canadian badgirl who just wanted to keep things so uncomplicated.

We know you've been looking for Barry Pepper since The Green Mile ran its course. We have too. But, we've now found the Hollywood icon, having agreed to lend his voice to the game Prototype, an open world action game in which he will play a 'genetically mutated shape-shifter.' Talk about typecasting!

Also, veteran character actor Paul Guilfoyle (CSI) will appear in the game, as will the hilariously-named Gordon Clap. We are just so thrilled to see that Barry Pepper has returned to us. After all, it's not every day that the man who played both Roger Maris and Dale Earnhardt lends his voice to a game. Kudos, Sierra Entertainment! You have secured a casting coup!

R.I.P. Hot Bodyguard

Former model and converted bodyguard Anna Loginova was killed in a carjacking incident Sunday when a gentleman pulled her from a Porsche Cayenne in Moscow. She fought back grabbing the door handle but fatally damaged the ole skull as the car picked up speed and she was forced to let go.

This is sad, it's true. But we can't help but think of how awesome it was that she was first a successful model (see fig. 1) and then ran a company of hot female bodyguards who were highly trained in the martial arts to protect the Russian elite.

So, if you're keeping score, the world is down one hot, ass-kicking model. This is a sad day, indeed.

HOLLA! Hook it up on the clean, friendly rap skeelz of da dope emcee B.C.

State of Emergency drops soon, ya'll. It's going to be Bill's foray into the rap world so that he can foist his values about what teens should be doing into their culture. Does he really think this is going to work?

Listen, the great comedians always find new ways to make us laugh, and half of us think this is just some ploy by a brilliant comedian to pull one over on us. The sad truth is that he's using his standing to try to change the world, and while what he's saying may be true, it just doesn't carry the same weight.

y fooles always gotta step!? stop steppin and get to steppin!
