Murdered: Soul Suspect Teaser Trailer »

Square Enix hasn't even shown Murdered: Soul Suspect publicly yet, but the mystery game now has a release window set for early 2014, the publisher confirms. The game is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC platforms, and there's no hint in the press release that it might also be headed to other home consoles, perhaps unannounced home consoles.

The hook in Murdered is that you're trying to solve a murder mystery in which you yourself are the victim. It's not an entirely original idea, but it's a neat one with a lot of potential for cool ideas to emerge. Find out more about the game at its official website, on Twitter, and on Facebook.

Watch Dogs

There's been a flurry of unconfirmed news about Ubisoft's E3 2012 charmer Watch Dogs in recent days, including some indication that the game is coming in fall 2013 and news of a possible Wii U release. First came the release window, via marketing materials that were leaked to Kotaku. They even make reference to my own Watch Dogs preview for G4 from E3 last year.

The promo materials suggest that the game is heading to "all home consoles," a rather vague description when you remember that Ubi previously confirmed plans to release Watch Dogs on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. In related news, newly discovered product listings at GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy suggest that a Wii U version of the game is coming as well (via All Games Beta).

Ubisoft confirms none of this, though a statement released to Kotaku offers more than your usual "no comment," as you can see right here: "Ubisoft is pleased with the response for Watch Dogs from media and fans. The game is an original IP that has been created from the ground up at Ubisoft Montreal with inspiration from many titles and ideas the studio has worked on throughout the years."

Assassin's Creed 3 "The Tyranny of King Washington: The Infamy" Launch Trailer »

Today sees the release of The Tyranny of King Washington: The Infamy, the first of three episodes in a solo play-focused DLC campaign for Assassin's Creed 3. Ubisoft's alternate history story -- because, you know, that stuff with Connor Kenway is TOTALLY true -- posits that George Washington establishes himself as a monarch in the post-Revolutionary War America.

Two more episodes -- The Betrayal and The Redemption -- will follow on March 19 and April 23, 2013, respectively. They'll be available individually for $9.99 / 800 MS Points or as part of the $29.99 / 2,400 MS Point Season Pass. Get a peek at the first DLC episode in the launch trailer up top.

BioShock Infinite "Lamb of Columbia" Cinematic Trailer »

Irrational Games has its marketing machine cranked up to 11 now on BioShock Infinite, with a new trailer to greet you today only days after the latest 'Truth From Legend' mockudoc appeared. This 'Lamb of Columbia' trailer is all about Elizabeth and her unique role in the floating city of Columbia.

This trailer is much more straightforward than the neat Truth From Legend shorts have been, but there's not much to complain about. BioShock Infinite is in stores on March 26, 2013 -- delayed a full month from the release that had been previously set -- and any fresh look helps to cut down on the pain of waiting.

Sony is feeling a bit nostalgic right now, as evidenced by a newly posted PlayStation Evolution video series that explores the development and growth of the PlayStation brand over the years. You know, just because. It totally has nothing to do with Wednesday's PlayStation Meeting 2013, where the company is expected to announce its next-gen PlayStation console.

Sure, you could look at the fact that these videos are posted on the PlayStation Meeting website as proof that a hardware announcement is coming. We didn't say that though, you did. The coming event is probably just a reveal for version 3.0 of PlayStation Home. Maybe a PS Vita price drop. Surely nothing else though... right?

Sony Patent Reveals The EyePad

Posted February 15, 2013 - By Adam Rosenberg

Sony Patent Reveals The EyePad

A newly published European patent application (filed in summer 2012) reveals that Sony has put some amount of effort into developing a tablet-like controller interface, dubbed the EyePad (via Engadget). The existence of a patent, discovered by GameChup, doesn't necessarily mean that this is a thing that will happen and be sold. It's certainly noteworthy, especially with Sony's next-gen console reveal believed to be happening next week.

The name 'EyePad' is an evolution of Sony's motion-sensing EyeToy camera, though there's obviously a tricky tie to Apple's own wildly popular line of tablets. The patent doc describes an input device with six-axis motion sensors, joystick controls (only one analog stick is pictured in the design sketch), and lit edges that "provide a similar functionality to that of the illuminated ball of the Playstation Move." The would-be device is also equipped with a pair of cameras that, together, can sense depth in a manner similar to Microsoft's Kinect.

It's all very intriguing, though it's important to remain realistic about what we're seeing here. Patents are filed all the time, for all sorts of crazy ideas. The PS Vita makes it clear that Sony sees the value in touch-based controls, but this EyeToy could easily just be an experiment and nothing more.

BioShock Infinite "Columbia, A Modern Day Icarus?-Part 2" Trailer »

Irrational Games has an all-new episode of "Truth From Legend" to share today, the second of what seems to be developing into a mockumentary short series on BioShock Infinite. The format of this latest "episode" is the same, though the subject this time is the captive Elizabeth's guardian, Songbird.

This continues to be one of the cooler examples of Irrational's and 2K Games' ongoing campaign to convince everyone that lightning will strike a second time in this BioShock follow-up. All will be revealed on March 26, 2013 when the game is released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows platforms.

Resident Evil: Revelations "Hunk" Gameplay Trailer »

Capcom has a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming console/PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations. Hunk is the star of this little montage (via All Games Beta), which focuses primarily on gun-pointing and horrific creature-snuffing. That's Resident Evil for you.

From the look of things, Resident Evil: Revelations gets a big visual bump in the move from Nintendo's 3DS to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Windows platforms. That should be great news to fans still smarting from the misstep that was 2012's Resident Evil 6. The console/PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations arrives on May 23, 2013.

Injustice: Gods Among Us "Aquaman" Gameplay Trailer »

The roster of superpowered contenders in NetherRealm's upcoming DC Comics fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, now officially includes Aquaman. Try to contain your laughter. The fish-talking Namor wannabe is hard to take seriously, largely because he talks to fish and wears a ridiculous costume.

The Aquaman reveal trailer above offers a look at how the king of Atlantis factors into Injustice's story. He doesn't seem happy to be dealing with Shazam and the Flash, a disagreement that presumably leads to the surfacing of his undersea army of giant hermit crabs. You also get a first peek at Aquaman kicking tail in the game's fighting environments.

Injustice: Gods Among Us comes to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on April 16, 2013.

The Last Guardian: 11 Things You Should Know

Fumito Ueda continues to work on The Last Guardian, though he does so now as a freelance contributor after having left SCE Japan Studio. This probably isn't news to anyone who has been keeping up with the Shadow of the Colossus creator's work, but Ueda offers an update himself in a newly posted official statement (via All Games Beta).

Ueda confirms that The Last Guardian continues to come together under his "creative supervision" and that it "is still in development by an incredibly talented team." He adds that "details regarding The Last Guardian's release is solely decided by Sony Computer Entertainment, not myself. Please keep an eye out for their official announcement."

Ueda suggests that he's got some other ideas in mind as well, and that while he'll see The Last Guardian through to release, he also hopes to "pursue new creative projects with a fresh perspective." Read the full message right here.

Black Ops 2 Revolution Map Pack Details Slip Out

The first DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 came to Xbox 360 in late-January 2013, and Activision now confirms that PlayStation 3 and PC versions will follow suit at the end of this month. The Revolution DLC pack hits those platforms on February 28, 2013, though there's no mention in the press release of Wii U release plans.

This Revolution pack is fairly full-featured as far as Call of Duty DLC goes. You get four multiplayer maps, a new Zombies map, a new Zombies versus mode that pits player-humans against player-zombies, and a new gun, the Peacekeeper SMG. It's a solid collection of stuff provided that you like to do Call of Duty things outside the campaign.

Deadpool

Activision's upcoming Deadpool game from High Moon Studios will be coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms sometime during summer 2013. A final date hasn't been announced yet, but a comic book ad spotted by Deadpool Bugle (via Joystiq) confirms the summer window.

We haven't seen much yet from the Deadpool game, though High Moon has proven itself as a reliable developer when it comes to bringing geek-friendly properties into the interactive space. Transformers: War For Cybertron and Fall Of Cybertron were both good-to-strong and the flawed The Bourne Conspiracy at least brought some cool ideas.

It sounds like Deadpool will be embracing a straightforward third-person action focus, though the key to nailing that character coorectly hinges on getting the writing and performance right. Expect to hear more about this one as the trade show season spools up this year.

Crysis 3 "Sharp Dressed Man" Trailer »

This latest 'Sharp Dressed Man' trailer for Crysis 3 (via All Games Beta) goes for cheap laughs, and that's fine. We've heard all we're going to hear by now about the game's play, features, and focus. The only thing left is to show you how badass it can be to run around in a Nanosuit. There's even a moment where Prophet mugs for the camera while a helicopter he shot an explosive arrow into explodes behind him.

Really though, this trailer was a win from the moment that ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man" was chosen to play on top of the footage. Nothing says "holy crap, this guy can kick some tail" more than a blues-rock band filled out by dudes with beards longer than your arm. Crysis 3 comes to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows platforms on February 19, 2013.

Star Trek The Game "Salvation" Gameplay Trailer »

The latest trailer for Star Trek is here! Titled 'Salvation,' this brief look at the game is actually a pretty dynamite assortment of gameplay clips the breathe and bleed Trek (via All Games Beta). You've got phaser blasts flying to and fro, and transporter moment, and Spock's iconic Vulcan Nerve Pinch.

Digital Extremes' Trek game attempts to fill in the narrative gap between J.J. Abrams' 2009 reboot and this spring's Star Trek Into Darkness, which hits theaters on May 17, 2013. Star Trek (the game, not the movie) comes to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows platforms just a few weeks earlier, on April 23, 2013.

Tomb Raider "Monastery to Medical Helicopter" Walkthrough Video Part 1 »

Lara Croft isn't going to have an easy time in Tomb Raider, as this new 11-minute clip of gameplay footage demonstrates. She runs, she shoots, she sneaks, she leaps, scales, and shimmies, but she's also slowed down by nagging wounds and susceptible to hazards both natural and human-made.

Watch along above as Lara carves an unlikely -- and partially unintentional -- route down a mountain for herself, transitioning from typical running and platforming to being carried along by a rushing river to a last-minute parachute save. The descent ends up aggravating wounds sustained earlier, leaving the heroine hobbled and cut off from her traversal abilities.

Tomb Raider is shapping up to be quite an intense experience, twisting the core ideas of the series for a much darker and more hopeless adventure. Then again, this is Lara Croft we're talking about. Don't ever count her out. Tomb Raider arrives on March 5, 2013.
