Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 gamers on Xbox 360 beware: the so-called "Graveyard" exploit, which Gearbox Software labels as "sabotage," is spreading like a computer virus as it wipes data from player saves (via Eurogamer). The issue apparently springs from user-edited save games that have been tweaked to unlock an unused hardcore mode found in the game's code. Play in an online game with someone who has an edited save and you'll see your player data erased once you've died, according to reports.

A patch was submitted to Microsoft to correct the issue last week, but there are still reports of Graveyard spreading. Gearbox community manager Chris Faylor recommends avoiding public games and playing only with trusted friends. Whenever you're leaving an online game, it is recommended that you exit via "Save and Quit" in the menu options. If you DO happen to die in the game and suddenly find yourself kicked back to the main menu, immediately select Continue to get back into your game.

Faylor also recommends letting Gearbox know about any "suspicious behavior" in Borderlands 2 by reaching out to the studio at spotted@gearboxsoftware.com. PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game appear to be unaffected, but gamers on those platforms should still keep an eye out for any similar issues.

Grand Theft Auto 5 Promo Materials Point To Spring 2013 Release

It looks like Rockstar Games is shooting for a spring 2013 release for Grand Theft Auto 5, based on photos of leaked promo materials posted by GTA-Five.pl (original link is dead, image via All Games Beta). Take this with a shaker full of salt, Internet. Nothing's real until Rockstar confirms it, as convincing as this image might be.

That said, the chances of GTA 5 showing up in spring 2013 were high already. Rockstar hasn't shown much of the upcoming game beyond a 2011 teaser trailer and a handful of screenshots, but its games historically tend to be released in spring. What's more, we reecntly learned that Game Informer will be getting an exclusive look at the game in an upcoming issue.

Even if this purportedly leaked material isn't legit, chances are still pretty high that we'll be returning to Los Santos in spring 2013.

Black Ops 2 Clip Nukes Nuketown

Posted October 26, 2012 - By Adam Rosenberg

Nuketown is back in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and you can take an early peek at it right now thanks to this newly released clip. It's a short one. Perhaps not as "blink and you'll miss it" as J.J. Abrams' world premiere look at Star Trek Into Darkness, but definitely "close your eyes for five seconds and you'll miss it."

Black Ops 2 arrives on November 13, 2012 with Nuketown 2025 in tow for those who pre-order the game. Nab the Hardened Edition or better and you'll also receive a Zombies version of the Nuketown 2025 map. For now, all you get is five seconds of boom. Enjoy.

Ubisoft has released the trailer for "The Far Cry Experience," a 4-part mockumentary for Far Cry 3. The survival web-series will star Superbad actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse. "The Far Cry Experience" was designed to give gamers a way to explore and interact with the world of Far Cry 3 before the game is released. The web series will answer the question, "What would happen if a gamer was immersed in a video game world?" Who knows, you might even develop a few real survival skills...but probably not.

Irrational Games delighted BioShock fans everywhere this week by releasing a stunning, action-packed new trailer for its eagerly awaited BioShock Infinite. The new "Beasts of America" video revealed entirely new footage, introducing us to new locations, enemies, gameplay elements, and the extremely violent side of Columbia. As is customary with such a detail-filled trailer like this one, we have broken out a few of the trailer's juicier reveals and compiled the following easily digestible list of some of the key things we learned (after piecing our brains back together that is). Enjoy!

7 Things We Learned From the BioShock Infinite

1. Welcome to Columbia

It’s hard to say if the opening shot of Booker in a dingy riding through a rain storm on his (and whoever is in the boat with him, maybe Elizabeth?) way to a foreboding lighthouse is the opening sequence of the game, but it’s obviously a direct reference to the opening of the first BioShock wherein we see Jack on a plane looking at a package and a picture of his “family” just before the plane crashes. Whether it’s the beginning or the end, either way it’s the perfect way to get BioShock fanatics like myself jazzed and chomping at the bit to see more.

And taking a closer look at Booker’s box-o-plot-teasing-items we can see pictures of Elizabeth, a postcard for Monument Island, a piece of paper that appears to be a ticket of some kind from New York City, a couple gold balls (which also look a little like cufflinks), a super quick peak at what could be Booker’s Pinkerton badge, a slick Luger, and a key with an image of a cage (Songbird reference perhaps?) on it. Talk about a “boat load” of stories, huh?

This year, Halloween hits on a Wednesday. Forget about trying to wrangle the last few bits of a costume you only half care about to drag yourself to some party that you’ll need to leave early just so you can go to work or class tomorrow. Take that bag of candy that you were going to pass out, lock the doors, turn off the lights, and play some great Halloween games again.

We look back at a list of some great games to give your Halloween spirits a lift. From busting ghosts to blowing apart necromorphs, we have you covered no matter your tastes in horror. Since the list is a couple of years old, you’ll probably find these titles for a reduced price. And you know what that means – more candy money for you.

Indie On Indie -- XBox Indie Developers Pick Their Favorite Xbox Indie Games

It’s that time of the year. Sixty bucks here. A special edition there. And perhaps a bank loan just for all the Borderlands 2 DLC. Sometimes the fall season seems to refer to bank account, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There’s a whole world of amazing games at your fingertips for only a couple of bucks.

Finding it is just the hard part.

Xbox Indie Game section presents some of the oddest, most unique, and sometimes, even the best gaming you can download straight to your console. Just recently, Indie Uprising III brought together some of these indie developers to show off their vision for the 360. For a change of pace, I asked the developers to recommend other games on the XBLIG marketplace that you should be playing now.

Borderlands 2 Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty DLC Review Verdict: Fight Pirates, Sandworms and Junk Robots

Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty adds a whole new layer to the endgame in Borderlands 2. The level cap continues to stand at 50, but Seraph Crystals that you collect from the DLC's two new uber-bosses can be used to purchase all-powerful pink-class gear from an Oasis vendor. Farming the Warrior and Terramorphous in the main campaign is fun, but there's a two-attempt limit on Scarlett's Leviathan. The true long-term play value of the new DLC lies with Hyperius the Invincible and Master Gee the Invincible.

These so-called "Seraphs" take massive amounts of punishment and present a steep challenge even to three- and four-player parties. The rewards are randomized, but you can always count on at least a handful of Seraph Crystals, possibly a pink-class item or, as Gearbox senior producer Mike Wardwell told us, a "mega drop" of crystals. Wardwell also confirmed that there's no hidden boss in Scarlett (a la Vermivorous the Invincible), but you might see unique item drops from some enemies (such as Mr. Bubbles....).

While each Seraph presents its own unique challenges, there are a few general elements that apply to both. Most importantly: everyone needs to be at level 50. The reduction in damage potential that you'll see even at level 49 is significant enough to be a problem both of these fights, since your odds of survival decrease with every second you're locked in the arena. Neither boss will attack until after you strike, so take advantage of the opportunity to get everyone into position.

First Grand Theft Auto 5 Art Revealed -- Pest Control

Resident Evil 6 Serpent Emblem Location Guide

Capcom has decided to update the camera controls (among other things) in Resident Evil 6, which answers one of the main complaints about the survival horror game.  Resident Evil 6 players will now be able to "adjust the camera to give a greater field of view as best suits their play style." The title update will hit in mid-December.

The patch will also change subtitle options so that English language audio can be combined with subtitles in an alternative language, add a "No Hope" difficulty level for players who want an extreme challenge, and nd will unlock Ada Wong's campaign from the start, so you won't have to complete all three other campaigns in order to unlock Ada’s story.

Below the "Read More" tag, you'll find a couple pictures that show off the camera differences coming to Resident Evil 6.
