Mark Millar Working On Superman Trilogy?

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Thursday, August 28, 2008 2:26 PM

In an interview with Fresh Ink’s Blair Butler, comic book author Mark Millar said he’d like to make a trilogy of films for a re-booted Superman series, and it might happen. Millar's vision for a new Superman:

"I've had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story. One to be released each year." Millar said.

Millar says there's nothing firm yet,  but he hopes to get word over the next few weeks. If everything goes perfectly, they'll be shooting next summer. Check it out below:

Geek Out: Crazy4Cult 2 Art Show

Posted by Patrick Roche-Sowa - Tuesday, August 26, 2008 4:20 PM

Do you like movies? Do you like art? Do you like artistic interpretations of cult films? Can I stop asking you questions now?

Last week, the Crazy4Cult 2 art show opened at Gallery 1988, hosted by none other than Kevin Smith and his producer, Scott Mosier. After the success of last year's Crazy4Cult show, Kevin immediately agreed to continue the tradition for at least another year, and chances are for many more years to come. This year's show is three-times as big as last year, with over 150 pieces of art commemorating films like The Wizard of OZ, Donnie Darko, Strange Brew, and Total Recall just to name a few. To cover this marriage of film and canvas, we sent our very own Blair Butler for a special artsy-fartsy edition of Geek Out. Enjoy getting some culture.

Geek Out: BSG Live!

Posted by Jonathan Hunt - Thursday, May 08, 2008 3:54 PM

This past Tax Day, April 15th, a very special event took place at the Roxy in Los Angeles, California. Nerds from all over crowded together for a sold-out show where composer Bear McCreary brought the music of Battlestar Galactica to a live concert venue.

We were the only ones given full access to everyone and everything inside the club. Sure we could be selfish and keep all the BSG-sweetness for ourselves, but we're not like that. We're about sharing.

Bear, his brother Brendan, the lovely Raya Yarbrough, and the Galactica's own Kandyse McClure all found time to sit down with us and talk about this unique concert event that brought musicians, performers, and geeks together like nothing has before.
