A Pasta Without the Guilt

Posted June 6, 2013 - By Antonio Hernandez

Low Carbs and Delicious

I have a confession to make: I hate cooking for more than 10 minutes. Honestly, if I were competing on Knife Fight I would give up within two minutes. So imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this delicious reciepe for Bay Scallop Shrimp Pasta. What makes it so special? Well, you can cook and serve it in just 10 minutes. The Art of Manliness came up with this new dish and I am literally salivating just talking about it. Too much information? Sorry, lets get down to the ingredients.

The receipe calls for:

  • Four large zucchini
  • Kosher salt
  • 1/2 stick of unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup of dry white wine, or substitue with chicken stock
  • 1 16.5 oz can fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • Fresh cracked pepper
  • 1 lb bay scallops, or substitute shrimo, crab meat, etc.
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • Parmesan cheese, grated

I'd recommend pairing it with a white wine, and plenty of napkins. For the full recipe check out the Art of Manliness. Oh, and enjoy the dish!

Go Big or Go Home

Go Big or Go Home

A challenging adventure by day and a luxury getaway by night; the No Limit Baja expedition is nothing like you have ever experienced. The journey begins in a custom Land Rover Defender Station Wagon with your trusty guide. You'll explore pre-historic caves filled with 10,000 year-old paintings, geothermal hot springs, and, of course, the beautiful vineyards of Mexico. There’s also plenty of coastal fishing and off road tracks if you’re the physical type. Don't worry, there is plenty of time to rest in one of the many safari camps scattered across truly stunning beaches.

Don't enjoy the idea of rugged life? The expedition also takes you to a Baja resort so can unwind and wash away that dirt and mud from the day's adventure. What else does the package include? Well, the price (available by contact only) includes hotels, camp and park fees, meals, vehicle expenses and airport transfers. However, you will have to pay for your own alcoholic beverages and international air-fare. You can find more information about this pulse-pounding adventure at the official No Limit X website

The Evolution of Grilled Cheese

The Grilled Cheese sandwich is not the most exciting of things. You've probably been making it the same exact way since you were a child: two pieces of bread and some supermarket cheese. How do you spice up such a mundane piece of food like you were a crazy chef on Knife Fight? Let me enlighten you.

The Rasberry Twist Grilled Cheese is the perfect sandwich for those who want something quick and easy, but complicated enough to raise some eyebrows. The main ingredients include green onion, bread, butter, rasberry preserves, 4 slices of munster cheese, and chopped pecans. Yes, I said chopped pecans. The result is a Grilled Cheese sandwich that has a slight sour taste, but includes that familiar taste you've enjoyed since 1st grade. Don't believe me? Check out the full recipe and find out for yourself.

Welcome to the Ranch

Posted June 4, 2013 - By Antonio Hernandez

Living the Life on the Ranch

Like the idea of camping, but not so keen on cooking those s'mores yourself? Don't worry, it's 2013 and that means you can enjoy "luxury camping." Ditch the dirty stigmas associated with the outdoor life and enjoy the life of a Rancher in style. Cliffside Camp is the perfect place to stay on your next getaway excurision. Located in central Montana, Cliffside puts you in the middle of 37,000 acres of  breathtaking wilderness. But it isn't a perfect getaway without a beutiful place to rest your head. The camp is composed of seven "luxury camping areas" and a grand dining terrace that serves guests with food that you would hardly associate with canned beans.

Six 1,000 sq ft tents sit atop a stunning cliff and come equipped with real beds, copper tubs, heated flooring, private decks, and even wireless internet.  Really, it's like taking your city apartment and dumping it in the middle of nowhere. Add to that a private chef  (gourmet smores for guests) and you've got the perfect getaway for a weekend or month.  There's also plenty of outdoor activites, including ATVs, white water rafting, horseback riding, cattle herding (not kidding), clay shooting and golf.

A Sandwich With No Fear

Posted June 4, 2013 - By Antonio Hernandez

A Sandwich With No Fear

Once in every 10,000 years there is a sandiwch that defies all convention. A sandwich that  should not taste amazing, but somehow bends the rules of our tastebuds. This sandwich that would be home on a no-holds-barred cooking show like Knife Fight.

This sandwich is named the Dagwood and it is absolutely insane.

You've probably never heard of this monstrous creation (I hadn't until a few moments ago), but I assure you that it is quite possibly the most delicious thing you will ever taste. The sandwich is packed to the brim with salami, bologna, turkey, Ruffles potatoe chips, and pepporoni. Not enough? How about slapping on 4 slices of American cheese and deli ham? Check out the recipe right here if you're brave enough.
