Borderlands 2

Comic-Con 2012 gave us a chance to get an extended hands-on preview of Borderlands 2. And we have to admit, Sanctuary never looked so good.

In our trek through Borderlands 2, we ran into some old faces as well as one of the new characters in the game, Tiny Tina. This pint-sized explosive expert may just have one of the dirtiest mouths as well as enough energy to run a whole planet. Let’s get down to what you really want to know about Borderlands 2 - how does it play?

"So much of what makes me optimistic about Borderlands 2 is how it simply builds upon and improves on all the aspects that made the first game so memorable, but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be room for a practical overhaul in a specific feature. In Borderlands 2's case, it’s all about the new abilities in the skill tree..."

To find out more about our run-through of Sanctuary, check out our Comic-Con 2012 Hands-On Preview.

666 Park Avenue

One of the great things about Comic-Con is the opportunity to check out movies and TV shows before they are shown to the general public. On preview night, before Comic-Con 2012 even officially opens, I and about 2,000 of my closest friends are checking out some TV pilots. The first, 666 Park Avenue, concerns a very tony apartment building in New York City that just happens to be owned by an agent of the devil.

The series kicks off with a lovely young couple, Jane and Henry, taking the job of apartment managers so they can live at the fashionable address rent free in exchange for routine maintenance. It's a pretty good deal, except I'm pretty sure the upwardly striving duo will ultimately be asked to pay a much larger price than Manhattan rents.

The Following At Comic-Con 2012 - Kevin Bacon Vs. The Serial Killers

If The Following teaches us anything, it's that getting rid of a serial killer is one thing, but when you're dealing with a whole bunch across the country? That's a whole new problem.

Kevin Bacon's new series on Fox follows the story of Ryan Hardy, a retired FBI agent who is brought back into action when Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), the infamous serial killer who he helped put behind bars, breaks out of prison. The cops follow his bloody trail of victims throughout Virginia as they piece together how the man escaped and who his next victim will be. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn about Hardy's work on the earlier case, his relationship with Carroll's ex-wife (Natalie Zea) and why the past has come back to haunt him.

Assassin's Creed 3 To Include Wolfpack Co-op Mode

Ubisoft might have surprised us all at E3 2012 with the reveal of a naval combat element in Assassin's Creed 3, but the publisher proved at San Diego Comic-Con that there's still room for more reveals, like a totally new co-op mode. Wolfpack brings a new twist to the gameplay in Assassin's Creed 3, challenging a team of players to fight the clock as they take out groups of targets together (via GameSpot).

From the sound of things, the mode favors team coordination over stealth. Only other targets will react when one is taken out, and then only when they observe the killing. The targets often spawn in groups, however, so the best way to avoid chasing your marks across the world is to have your team work together. There are added twists, like occasional bonus objectives that offer extra points for killing a target with one tool or another.

All told, it sounds like a very cool and uniquely Assassin's Creed take on co-op. It's also yet another welcome addition to an already features-packed game.

X-Play’s Morgan Webb gets a chance to grill Rod Fergusson, Director of Production at Epic Games, about the new OverRun Mode as well as a potential release date for Gears of War: Judgment. If you want to know what it takes to bring a new mode into this epic franchise or get a hint of when you’ll be able to get your hands on it, you’ll need to check out the interview below to find out more.

Wreck-It Ralph Game Coming From Activision And Disney Interactive

Wreck-It Ralph fans were treated to 10 minutes of exclusive footage from the new movie at Comic-Con's Hall H today, which featured a nice homage to classic video games, a glimpse at the various lands of the gaming world, and a look at the overall storyline.

Wreck-It Ralph is the villain of the iconic 1980's video game, Fix-It Felix Jr., who destroys buildings that Felix must fix up in order to save the residents of his skyscraper apartment building. But after 20 years of playing the bad guy, Ralph has,  "decided that maybe there's more to life than wrecking." Enter the usual existential mid-life crisis--and I mean usual, because everyone goes through this at least once in their life. Right?  And wouldn't that include video game villains? Moore spoke about how the animated film sets Ralph on a journey to "prove that he's more than just a bad guy in an old 8-bit video game."

Fortnite To Be A PC Exclusive And Six Other Thing We Learned At The Fortnight Comic-Con 2012 Panel

Epic Games showed off Fortnite at their Comic-Con 2012 panel, marking the first time the game has been seen in action since it was announced last year. Actual gameplay, scenic videos featuring landscapes, and How To Build vignettes were shown at the panel. Sadly, I was forbidden from getting footage of any of it.

The hour-long panel was filled with brand new details about the game, most shocking of which was the announcement that Fortnite would be a PC exclusive as well as the first Unreal Engine 4 based game to be released. But that wasn't the only thing we learned.

Fortnite won't be your typical $60 game. It sounds like Epic plans to roll out this game in waves, first a friends and family beta, then a closed beta, then a public beta, all the while taking in feedback from gamers. We see this model in many free-to-play MMOs, like Firefall. This obviously leads me to speculate Fortnite will be free to play. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about Fortnite.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Reactions From The Twilight Comic-Con 2012 Panel

Love it or hate it, the Twilight saga is coming to a close, and the cast made one last Hall H appearance during the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Panel at Comic-Con 2012.

As the first Hall H panel of 2012, Twilight started off on a bittersweet note as host Eric Moro paid a quick tribute the Twilight fan who was tragically struck down by a car two days ago while camping out in anticipation of the panel.

After a brief moment of silence, however, the crowd began to roar as the lights went down and the Breaking Dawn 2 logo appeared on the screen.

While Comic-Con has grown into a celebrity juggernaut over the past several years, a lot of the rapid growth can be attributed to the crazy fan response when the series first debuted here four years ago in 2008. Since then, the series has stomped the box office, breaking records, but not returning to San Diego. Now, as the series comes to a close, the cast and crew made one last appearance at the show that made them famous.

Moro was joined on stage by Kristen Stewart (Bella Cullen), Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen), Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black), Mackenzie Foy (Renesmee), and author/producer Stephanie Meyer. Unfortunately, Director Bill Condon was absent due to work commitments on the film in London, but he did send a special message and introduced the first seven minutes of the film on video.
