Splinter Cell: Blacklist Has Been Announced

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist has been announced. The game was revealed during Microsoft's E3 2012 press conference. Live gamplay was demoed during the conference, and it looked pretty darn good for a game that had been just been announced. The gameplay demo for Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: Blacklist featured a soldier, presumably a young Sam Fisher, taking out bad guys in a desert compound.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will feature single player, co-op, and spies versus mercs. It will be released in Spring 2013.

Halo 4

At the start of the Microsoft Press Conference 2012, we finally get a taste of some of the new light weapons and our first hint at what's in store for us when we face an ancient threat, the Forerunners in Halo 4.

With the ship filled with survivors crashing into the jungle wasteland, Master Chief makes his way through the alien world to face an old threat, the Covenant. After dispatching a few grunts, the last unit of the band gets dematerialized into a puff of orange light. Like the lights scanning the ship and the orb coming from out of nowhere, these orange lights mean danger in the new Halo. As Cortana points out, these new enemies are non-organic and work together as a single unit, helping each other while cordinating attacks. These are the Forerunners of old; the makers of the Halo Array, the ark, and the new threat on the planet.

Nintendo Shows Off Wii U; Introduces GamePad, Miiverse

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata showed off the Wii-U's new function in a pre E3 2012 a video released, giving the gaming world a name for the Wii U controller, showing off a newly designed secondary controller controller, and explaining the Wii U's online platform, called the "Miiverse."

The Wii U controller will be called the Gamepad, in a nod to the NES's Gamepad. The controller itself is a little larger than the prototype shown at last year's E3. As was rumored, it will feature a pair of traditional control-sticks rather than the control pads on the original version. Also of note: There's an area for near-field communication (NFC) built in, which will allow you to scan tokens or cards without having to enter codes into the Wii U. For more, including the full presentation, be sure to click inside.

Wii U Hands-On Impressions -- Battle Mii and Zelda HD

If you don't already know what to expect at the Nintendo Press Conference 2012, then I just have two words for you - Wii U. The new system that still has people scratching their heads will get its chance in the spotlight yet again. Along with the new system, Nintendo will surely talk about new games, something for the 3DS, and someone may actually remember that we still have a Wii.

I've gathered yet again the top minds behind games at G4 to find out what to expect at the Nintendo Press Conference.

Matt Keil

The big Wii U push: price (over $250 is suicide), release date, launch titles, the whole deal. I expect Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros. Wii U as launch titles from Nintendo. I really hope the rumors of the insane Metroid/Star Fox crossover game by Retro are real. Nintendo will attempt to prove for the third generation in a row that they have strong third-party support, which will consist of current-gen multiplatform games with a Wii U screen controller gimmick added in. The 3DS section of the conference will focus on apps and online features nobody wants, because Nintendo is still trying to compete with Apple instead of making a successor to the DS and its exceptional game library.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Locations

Despite the rumors on the playground, E3 2012 covers far more than just the big three conferences. There will always be more games, more surprises, expensive hotdogs, and terrible phone reception to be found at the biggest gaming event of the year.

I turn to the great gaming minds of G4 to find out what we should look for or be weary of before we even step foot inside the LA Convention Center. This year, I’m just hoping for comfortable chairs and a decent cup of coffee.

Nikole Zivalich

E3 2012 is quickly approaching and I am not ready. There, I said it. Overall, I predict there will be too many games to see and not enough time to play them. I get the feeling this E3 will lack in genuine surprises, and not just because I work at G4, but because everything is either a sequel, or a remake, or has already been announced. Master Chief willing, I'll be wrong, and there will be a publisher that shocks us all.

I do, however, expect Feedback's live E3 special to go off without a hitch. Not a single hitch will be had! It's going to be two hours of live streaming madness from the G4 stage on June 7th. Coverage starts at 11am PT. Be there, or I'll find you and make you hurt.

New Prince Of Persia Game In Development By Ubisoft?

Could a new Prince of Persia game be in development? Folks over at gaming forum NeoGAF are speculating that Ubisoft may be developing the next Prince of Persia game, but others guess that it could be an unannounced Assassin's Creed Vita title, or maybe something else entirely...

Only three pictures were posted, the one above and two more which you can check out via the NeoGAF post. If it is a new PoP game, it'll be the first since 2010's The Forgotten Sands, and it looks like our hero will be wielding a bow and arrow this time around.

The Ubisoft E3 2012 press conference will be live streamed on G4TV.com at 3:00 PM PST Monday, June 4, 2012 so we'll be able to confirm who exactly is in the picture then. For now, who do you think it is?

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Details Released By Konami -- Dracula's Back

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was officially announced by Konami earlier in the week, and now the studio's announced some more details about the project. Konami's confirmed that the game's currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and that it expands the series with a new storyline, villains, and visuals.

"Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 underscores Konami's commitment to bringing only AAA titles to the market," said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "The rich storyline, vibrant graphics and series surprises are unparalleled – making Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 one of the biggest titles to look out for next year."

Lords of Shadow 2 will wrap up the Lords of Shadow saga, and give players an all-new gameplay experience within the universe. The game will once again follow Dracula, but this time he's been weakened and it'll be up to you to help him reacquire his powers so that he can take on a powerful new threat.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be on display at E3 2012, but if you want to see how the game's shaping up so far check out the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 official trailer.

Halo 4 Confirmed For Xbox 360

This year for the Microsoft Press Conference, I'm bringing earplugs. Between the explosions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Gears of War 3, and the guy next to me screaming in my ear when the Halo 4 trailer played, I don't think I could hear anything for half a day.

Last year, we learned that shouting at your console could actually make something happen. To find out what people will be shouting about this year, I turn to the men and women of G4 who keep this place running for gamers everywhere.

Jake Gaskill

343 Industries will show off Halo 4's inevitable Kinect-integrated features, and Microsoft will detail some of the new capabilities coming to Kinect 2.0. There will also be some sort of cross-platform demo between a Windows 8 PC and a 360 doing something "Ooh!" worthy but also something most people will never have any use for. This could also take the form of cross-platform play between a Windows 8 phone and a 360.

Dead Space 3 E3 2012 Screenshot Released

A single Dead Space 3 screenshot has been released. You can see it above. While that screenshot tells us little about the game, I can tell you the following:

That's not a ton of information about the game, I realize, but part of the fun of pre-E3 is wild speculation and expectation regarding games everyone wants to play. So feel free to comment in our comment section.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 E3 Debut Trailer »

Konami announced Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 this evening. As you can see in the video above, Konami showed off some very impressive-looking cinematics at its pre-E3 press event, but didn't offer much in terms of gameplay details.

After Lords of Shadow 2's reveal was leaked earlier, we thought we'd be seeing a bit more of the actual game, but I guess we'll have to wait until E3 proper for that. We'll fill you in with details as we learn more.

Tomb Raider

The release date for Tomb Raider has been announced. Tomb Raider will be out on March 5, 2013.

Tomb Raider, from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics, gives us a gritty version of Lara Croft, with the iconic video game hero being knocked about, bloodied and otherwise injured. It almost looks like a cross between LOST and Descent.

Tomb Raider E3 "Crossroads" Gameplay Trailer »

Studio head Darrell Gallagher pledged to deliver "the best game of our careers," and judging by the gameplay preview video we've seen, Crystal is well on its way.
