Battlefield 3

Karl Magnus Troedsson, General Manager DICE and Patrick Soderlund, EVP of EA Games took the stage at GamesCon 2011 to talk about Battlefield 3's new co-op multiplayer mode. The co-op mode for BF3 will feature the "full range of Battlefield gameplay including ground and air vehicles, missions and tight urban warfare."

The co-op demo that the two were playing featured a mission where they had to rescue a high-value target and escort him to safety. Other than campaign missions with friends, you'll also be able to compete with players to see who can complete missions more quickly, and achieve leaderboard rankings. Also, Battlefield 3 wants to take your social experience to a new level, so whethe you're on your PC, console or mobile devices. Battleblog will keep you informed of every update from your friends, all in real time.

The two started the demo by praising BF3 as "the best Battlefield experience ever," and mentioning that "Battlefield 3 is the best, modern warfare experience game this year.”

Battlefield 3 is coming out for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 25.

Massively multiplayer horror game The Secret World has a release window. It's coming to PCs in April, 2012. Plus, EA just announced a beta that's coming up much sooner. You'll be able to test out the game beginning August 26.

Top street players were motion captured in and the game will also use the new player impact engine and the precision dribbling engine being that is used in FIFA 12.

"FIFA Street will appeal to new fans that are looking for a unique, fun soccer experience, and long-time FIFA fans looking for an authentic street soccer experience with the level of quality that they know and love from the FIFA franchise."

Operations will offer varied difficulty modes ranging from easy for casual players to difficult for the more hardcore players. 'Citizen Skywatch' Placeholder Has Connections To Take-Two, Rockstar

A website was discovered over the weekend for "Citizen Skywatch," along with associated Twitter and YouTube accounts. The site is pretty empty right now, with nothing more than a stylized logo that offers no hint of what the term is connected to. However, server addresses in the WHOIS site lookup point to some connection with Take-Two and Rockstar Games.

There's no way of knowing what game this might relate to, though the timing of the website's discovery in relation to the start of Gamescom this week suggests we'll be hearing more very soon. The Rockstar connection means it probably has nothing to do with BioShock: Infinite or XCOM, two games in which the term "Skywatch" would seem to be relevant. Maybe GTA V...?
