Rage: The Scorchers DLC On The Way?

New Rage DLC entitled Rage: The Scorchers may be on its way. PEGI, the European video game content rating system, lists ZeniMax and Bethesda as European publishers in the filing, which leads us to believe that this is some Rage content that didn't make it in to the final cut of the game.

We've known about the Scorchers for a while now though. They're one of the six bandit clans in Rage and they were the only one cut from the game. We've even seen screenshots of them, like the one above, so it definitely likely that they'd come out in some sort of DLC or expansion pack.

Keep in mind id Software hasn't confirmed the release of The Scorchers DLC, but if they do we'll keep you updated.

The Microsoft Surface -- Five Games We Want On Microsoft's New Tablet

Microsoft's new tablet, The Surface was recently announced by the company at a press event in Los Angeles. Coming right off the event, the one thing we have on our minds is: can it play games? According to the specs released by Microsoft, the answer is most definitely yes.

The Surface is a high-definition, entertainment driven device equipped with voice recognition, a touchpad with left and right buttons, USB and micro SD card slots, as well as a full keyboard built in to the stand. Spec wise, the Surface is equipped with a Nvidia graphics card to offer excellent visuals and an ARM processor to drive the device at lightning fast speeds, which is just what you'll want when you're gaming on the go.

The Surface will probably be able to utilize Microsoft Smartglass functionality as well, although it was specifically mentioned at the press event. Smartglass is an app which allows you to use your smart device to control and interact with media on your Xbox. Microsoft Xbox LIVE Corporate Vice President Marc Whitten said it best at E3 2012, "With Xbox SmartGlass, movies are more immersive, TV is more engaging, music is more interactive and games are more thrilling."

With all this in mind, we wanted to start the rumor mill spinning and speculate on the kind of games we might see coming to Surface in the near future. Read on for our full list.

Smart Glass Announced - Official E3 2012 News

Microsoft's rumored tablet will apparently support Xbox Live streaming and will be released as part of the company's strategic partnership with Barnes & Noble, according to unnamed sources speaking to TechCrunch. We'll know one way or another later today when Microsoft's June 18, 2012 media event in Los Angeles kicks off at 3:30pm PST.

There's very little more to say about the reveal at this point. Rumors of a Microsoft tablet popped up late last week after the company sent out press invites touting a "major announcement" at today's event. The Barnes & Noble tie would make sense given that Microsoft entered into a partnership with the retailer earlier this year.

It's the possibility of Xbox Live-streaming support that is most exciting here, however; if the rumor is true, this tablet would be the first to offer anything more than the limited connectivity available via the My Xbox Live app. It would also certainly come along at an appropriate moment, what with Microsoft having just announced its SmartGlass initiative at E3 2012.

God of War Ascension

God of War: Ascension hits stores on March 12, 2013, and a newly updated Amazon product listing now offers fans an early look at what Sony's plans might be for a Collector's Edition release of the game. The contents of the $79.99 box set have since been removed from the online retailer's listing, but not before those details could be read, processed, and reported on by GameSpot.

Assuming Amazon's information was accurate, the God of War: Ascension Collector's Edition will include an eight-inch Kratos statue, a copy of the soundtrack, a PlayStation 3 theme, an avatar pack, some amount of double XP time in the game's multiplayer mode, and a code for a future DLC content unlock, all packaged inside a steelbook case. Amazon pre-orders also include the added bonus of the Mythological Heroes Multiplayer Pack, which lets players outfit their avatars with the armor of Achilles, Perseus, Orion, and Odysseus.

Battlefield 3 Gamers Want A Dinosaur Mode -- Get #BF3Dinos Trending

Battlefield 3 might get a Dinosaur mode, a mode which has been requested for the FPS even before it was released, and not just by me. The mode has been the topic of conversation for nearly a year now, but nothing has been confirmed by DICE. But thanks to Twitter, DICE might take a look at making Jurassic Warfare a reality. If you're confused, let me back up.

First, Battlefield 3's community manager, from the official @Battlefield account, recently tweeted,

"@zamielk No, at this time there is no word on a dinosaur DLC. Would you like one? And if so, would it be humans vs. dinosaurs? ^KB"

Dinosaurs were then brought up again thanks to a post on Reddit yesterday. The BF3 Community Manager posted these encouraging words.

"Glad to see the enthusiasm.
Really, though, if this is something you guys want the best way to go about it is to try to get #BF3Dinos off the ground on Twitter.
If that sh*t trends it's pretty hard to ignore."

We've heard nothing about Eidos Montreal's work on Thief 4 since the game was first announced in 2009, but a newly discovered demo for lighting and composition artist Erich Wong at least confirms that the game continues to exist. The all-CG 30-second clip gives us a glimpse of what a current-gen Garrett could look like, though it's hardly the glimpse into the game that fans might have been hoping for.

The Thief 4 video surfaced following a Kotaku report from Internet super-sleuth Superannuation relating to the game's absence from E3 2012. There have apparently been multiple top-level developer departures on the project, which is never a great sign. There's also this trailer, which was apparently intended for a December 2011 reveal.

It's not clear what led to that not happening, but perhaps this flurry of talk about the long-awaited game will prompt Eidos owner Square Enix to offer up some information. The last anyone heard about the game was in mid-2011, when the Deus Ex: Human Revolution art director made an offhand comment about the Thief 4 team moving into Eidos Montreal's main production space following the completion of Deus Ex.

New Prince Of Persia Game In Development By Ubisoft?

Could a new Prince of Persia game be in development? Folks over at gaming forum NeoGAF are speculating that Ubisoft may be developing the next Prince of Persia game, but others guess that it could be an unannounced Assassin's Creed Vita title, or maybe something else entirely...

Only three pictures were posted, the one above and two more which you can check out via the NeoGAF post. If it is a new PoP game, it'll be the first since 2010's The Forgotten Sands, and it looks like our hero will be wielding a bow and arrow this time around.

The Ubisoft E3 2012 press conference will be live streamed on G4TV.com at 3:00 PM PST Monday, June 4, 2012 so we'll be able to confirm who exactly is in the picture then. For now, who do you think it is?

Keep reading to see a bunch of the Xbox Smart Glass' rumored specs.

The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf

Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf has been listed on a Danish retail site. Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf was the cancelled console version of the Witcher. The game was cancelled in 2009. CD Projekt Red has denied rumors that this will be there next title. They are set to make a major announcement tomorrow though, so naturally many hope this game will become a reality.

Grand Theft Auto 5

Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA5) is on pace to sell 14 million units at launch according to Stern Agee's analyst Arvind Bhatia. Bhatia released a note to investors, saying he expects the game to come in the first three months of 2013, and that it will bring in around $700 million in revenue for Take-Two.

Bhatia said that it, "is all but a given" that Rockstar will launch GTA 5 before March of next year, given that the company doesn't have any other games coming out this year. To compare, Grand Theft Auto 4 came out in Aprill 2008 and shipped 13 million copies before the end of March 2009. It has since gone on to sell almost 20 million.

Wii-U Controller Seems To Have Control Sticks

It looks like Nintendo has changed the design of the Wii U's controller, adding control sticks instead of discs. The above photo was reportedly tweeted by a QA tester at TT Games, but has since been removed. As you can see, the control discs featured in the original controller design are gone, in favor of more traditional sticks. Check out the difference:

Killzone 3 Preview

An interesting piece of Killzone news dropped this morning. Website SiliconEra reports that Sony Computer Entertainment is recording a teaser for a future Killzone game. We don't know much about the game, except that it takes place after Killzone 3. According to the source, the potential future Killzone could be Killzone 4, or it could be a PS Vita game set in the Killzone universe, or it could be something else entirely. Not much to go on, I'll admit.

Here's the dialog from the supposed teaser, though:

"My sons and my daughters, today we take the first step toward our imperial future.

For years, this once-great nation has stagnated in the shadow of its enemies. Governed by scoundrels who flaunted the ideals established by my father, these traitors… these enemies of our race have diluted and exploited the triad of Duty, Obedience, and Loyalty.

This regime, this corrupt regime, has been dissolved. In its place does rise an era of stability and strength. A time of opportunity born from a promise that we shall return our people to their proper sphere of dominance."

Can you make any sense of it?

Rabbids Go Home Review

Rabbids Rumble has been rated by the Australian Classification website, despite not actually being announced by Ubisoft yet. The listing does not reveal any information regarding release window, or launch platforms. It does say the game has "very mild crude humour." Sounds legit!

My guess is Rabbids Rumble is actually an N64 title designed to make use of the Rumble Pack. My second guess would be: it's a Wii U launch title and it will be officially revealed next month at 2012's E3.

What's your Rabbids Rumble theory?

Avengers: Battle For Earth Domain Points To Console Game

The Avengers video game may have a title, Avengers: Battle For Earth, thanks to recently registered domain name. The address, avengersbattleforearth.com, was registered by Marvel Characters Inc and is currently listed on Ubisoft's nameservers.

The Avengers movie made $200 million this weekend, I think it's safe to say someone is going to capitalize on that hype, and soon.

Do you think Avengers: Battle For Earth will be the next Avengers game? Do you think it will be good?
