Allegedly, Mafia 3 will launch on the Xbox 720 and PS4 in 2013.

Saints Row: The Third -- Enter The Dominatrix Announced

Saints Row: The Third -- Enter The Dominatrix was originally announced as an expansion. THQ saw the potential in the game and decided to delay the content to create a stand-alone product. On today's THQ earnings call, President, Jason Rubin, described Saints Row: Enter The Dominatrix as "Saints Row 4 if you will." I will, Mr. Rubin!

Enter the Dominatrix picks up right after the event of Saints Row: The Third. When the game was first announced it was described as a cooky sci-fi expansion. We're not sure if it will maintain those themes now that it has been expanded to be a full retail game.

Assassin's Creed 3 For The PS3 To Feature 60 Minutes Of Exclusive Gameplay

The PlayStation 3 version Assassin's Creed 3 will have 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay according the boxart from Amazon.UK. The retailer shows all three platform's boxart but only the PS3 box is listed as an "Exclusive Edition."

It's not clear at this time what the extra hour of gameplay will include. Ubisoft has not officially announced any console specific Assassin's Creed 3 content.

Gears of War Too Depressing

The Gears of War trilogy is this console cycle's staple third person shooter but that doesn't mean Epic has completely ruled out a first person shooter installment in the series. Rod Fergusson, Epic's Director of Production, recently spoke with OXM about the Gears of War FPS.

"I'm a big believer in never say never," Fergusson said.  "It's all about what's interesting in the industry at the time and where fans want us to take it. We don't want to say never but it's not on the top of my mind either. We look at what makes sense and move in that direction."

Prince Of Persia Reboot Teased In Leaked Screenshot

It seems that Ubisoft is working on a Prince of Persia reboot, based on a leaked screenshot that was posted to the publisher's official forums (via Polygon). A number of users on the thread seem to be convinced that the screen nods to an Egyptian setting, though it's not clear what such speculation is based on. To me, the screen looks like it could've come from an Assassin's Creed game. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This is actually the second indication in recent months that Ubisoft has a new take on the classic series in the works. Another image emerged in early June 2012, apparently taken from a cinematic, showing a muscular man in silhouette. The guy in the center frame of this new screen -- which, it should be mentioned, is labeled 'POP_ZERO_2' -- appears to be the same person that we saw in the earlier screen. Ubisoft has yet to comment, and likely won't until a formal reveal is made.

Final Fantasy 13-2

The next Final Fantasy game will be announced at the Final Fantasy anniversary event which is being held from August 31 through September 2 in Shibuya, Japan. According to Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase, Square's announcement will focus on the Lightning Saga, leading us to believe that next game will be centered around the hard-hitting female heroine from Final Fantasy 13.

'God of War 3' Footage Leaks Onto Internet

The God of War Saga Collection seems to have been revealed. According to anonymous reports to Siliconera, the collection is coming to the PlayStation 3 in late August 2012, but other than that we don't have any more details on the game.

Since there are already two other God of War collections out there with the God of War Collection and the God of War Origins Collection, I'm assuming the Saga Collection will feature every game from the other two collections as well as God of War 3.

We'll have to wait on official word from Sony to hear more about the God of War Saga Collection, but when we have more details we'll let you know. For more God of War, you can check out our most recent God of War: Ascension multiplayer preview.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat

Bethesda Softworks has picked up the publishing rights for Sergei Grigorovich's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. That's the rumor anyway, based on what a "very reliable source" told Ukrainian blogger and marketing professional Sergey Galyonkin (via All Games Beta). Forget the grain; take this news with a shaker full of salt for now.

GSC Game World developed the original game and its expansions, and it was working on the sequel until word of the game being canceled came out. GSC reaffirmed at the start of 2012 that development on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was indeed still underway, but an April posting on the game's Facebook page turned around again and confirmed the cancellation.

Now, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is up in the air. The new rumor suggests that development on the sequel is being picked up by a non-Ukrainian studio, and that the game will be powered by Bethesda tech.

Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will get three new maps in September according to website MP1st. Before I continue, this news is 100% still in the rumor phase.

MP1st has footage and screenshots of the alleged next batch of DLC of MW3. The maps, called Gulch, Boardwalk and Parish, all have different terrains but seem to be set in America. Gulch is a desert environment in a Utah mining settlement. Boardwalk is a pier-like map with gift shops. Lastly, Parish, a map with a crumbling cathedral. These all sound like Left 4 Dead 2 maps to me, which means I'm stoked for them!

Activision and Infinity Ward have not announced these new maps yet.

Do you think this information is legit? If it is, are you going to buy this MW3 DLC?

Photos Of Next-Gen Xbox Development Kit Appear -- Get Yours For The Low Price Of $10,000

Images of a next-generation Xbox 360 (codenamed Durango) development kit appeared online after a user named DaE on the AssemblerGamers forums tried to sell the kit for $10,000.

Originally we totally doubted the images' legitimacy and were dumbfounded by the idea that someone could be selling a weird-looking PC tower claiming to be a next-gen dev kit online, but Digital Foundry stepped in and confirmed that they were the real deal after speaking with "multiple developers working on next-gen projects," as well as DaE, the user selling the kit. So this is it, gamers, feast your eyes on the hardware that's being used to develop next-gen games for Microsoft. Color us surprised.

According to DaE, the black box, which was sent to developers back in February, contains parts similar to those you'll find in a "standard gaming PC." DaE said that the kit includes an Intel CPU, a NVIDIA graphics card, 8 GB of RAM and a 64-bit operating system. Before you get your hopes up too high, remember that dev kits generally feature twice the RAM of retail devices in order to make room for all of the debugging tools.

Five iPhone Game Developers React To Apple's iPad Announcement

More reports are coming in that Apple plans to announce the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini in mid-September. According to reports posted on iMore, Apple is planning to show off the iPhone 5 at an event on September 12, 2012, with the release to follow nine days later. According to the site, "This information comes from sources who have proven accurate in the past."

The iPad Mini will supposedly be announced at the same event, although there's less information about when that device will hit the market (if it exists at all).

If you add this rumor to last week's similar iPhone 5 rumor, figure in Apple's release schedule for past improvements of the iPhone, and it seems pretty likely that we'll all be drooling over a new iPhone in September. On the other hand, these are all unsupported Internet rumors and might turn out to be utterly false, so take it all with a huge grain of internet-rumor-salt.

Samurai Warriors 4 Planned For February 2014 Release -- Will It Be Next-Gen?Tecmo Koei hopes to launch Samurai Warriors 4 in February 2014. You might think Tecmo Koei just really likes to plan ahead, but the timing of this game was chosen to correspond with 10th anniversary of the Dynasty Warriors series. The first Dynasty Warriors title was released for the PS2 on February 11, 2004.

Before you mark your calendars (Can you buy a 2014 calendar yet?), this isn't an official release date announcement. The tweet this news came from stated they hoped to time the game's launch in this window. The tweet's in Japanese, so I'll take Andriasang's word for it.

Even if the release window is tied to the anniversary, it seems likely we'll have next-gen title by 2014. Do you think Samurai Warriors 4 will launch on the PS4 and the Xbox 720?

Final Fantasy Versus 13 Reportedly Canceled

Square Enix reportedly canceled all development on Final Fantasy Versus 13, according multiple unnamed sources speaking to Kotaku. The planned spin-off, announced alongside Final Fantasy 13 and the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy series in 2006, has only put in the briefest of public appearances since that initial reveal, surfacing only occasionally in the six years since it was announced with little more than teasing glimpses.

The decision apparently came down the chain only in recent weeks, according to one of Kotaku's sources. The publisher reportedly plans to make no official announcement about the change in plans, intending instead to let it be forgotten as no additional news emerges. Some portion of the work done on the scrapped game is apparently now being used in the development of Final Fantasy 15, according to another of the sources, though it's unclear if that's just Versus 13's code and assets or if development staff have been shuffled around as well.

A statement from Square Enix to Kotaku amounts to a "no comment" on the matter. Would any of you be surprised if this turned out to be true?

Yakuza 1 And Yakuza 2 HD Remakes Revealed In Famitsu

Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2 will be re-released in HD. It's rumored that Sega will officially announce these titles tomorrow, July 19, 2012.  Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition will launch on the PlayStation 3 according to Weekly Famitsu, where the report originates. The Japanese site lists the game's released as November 1 in Japan. A US release date was not mentioned.

Bioware Logo

Reports are coming in that indicate BioWare Austin, the studio behind Star Wars: The Old Republic, has been hit by a round of layoffs. Gamasutra is now confirming executive producer Rich Vogel is no longer with BioWare. The amount of people affected by the layoffs are unclear at this time. BioWare announced this past May their plan to restructure the studio but we don't know if these layoffs were part of their plan.

Rich Vogel played a large role in developing SWTOR, supervising all aspects of the game. He had worked at BioWare Austin for the past seven years. Gamasutra believes Vogel left the company before today's layoffs.

Writing a story about layoffs is always unfortunate. We here at G4 hope everyone affected is okay and we know they'll find work soon.
