Unconfirmed

EA's Redwood Shores Studio Now Visceral GamesVisceral Games may be developing a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) strategy game for the PC as part of EA's Play4Free division. The company hasn't given any details on the project, but considering they're hiring people who have past experience with MOBA games for an upcoming PC action title, it seems like a safe bet.

Visceral Games is well-known for their work on the Dead Space series, so it's possible that this upcoming PC game could be a Dead Space spinoff. When we get more details about this unconfirmed project we'll be sure to let you know.

In the meantime, would you be interested in playing a competitive Dead Space MOBA title? I'm not sure how Dead Space really fits in to the MOBA genre, so it will be interesting to see what Visceral is coming up with.

Microsoft Dodges Questions About A Redesigned Xbox 360

Microsoft could be phasing out Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360. The company has reportedly already begun removing points from music and movie purchases and rentals from Windows 8, its upcoming operating system. When/if the changes take place, consumers will be able to pay for digital content in actual money instead of a weird imaginary currency.

Previously, in Windows 8 betas, older versions of the OS and the 360, Microsoft used its points system for all video purchases and rentals, but now, Windows 8 defaults to actual monetary amounts, although you can still pay in points if you'd like.

Right now, the changes appear only on PCs running beta copies of Windows 8, but there seems to be a very good chance that the dashboard update coming later this month to the 360 will phase in the change... at least, I sincerely hope so. I'm terrible at math, so converting points to dollars in my head is practically impossible.

What do you think? Are you ready for the death of points?

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 3 is already in the works according to the Gearbox Software's lead writer Anthony Burch. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though, the game is not in production and it has not been officially announced. That being said, it's reported Burch mentioned on Revision3's The Totally Rad Show, he and the rest of the Borderlands team were talking about their ideas for Borderlands 3.

New PS3

The PlayStation 3 "Super Slim" has been leaked ahead of its expected reveal at Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference. Polish site Polygamia.pl (via TheSixthAxis) reported on a promotional poster they saw for Polish electronics store Media Expert that teased a new Playstation 3 model and a September 28,2012 date.

Sony filed a new PS3 SKU with the FCC back in July, when we first learned of the new PS3 models. Supposedly, there will be two new PS3 models offered: a 12GB and a 500GB, but we don't know their price points yet. We're expecting to learn more about the PS3 super slims during Sony's TGS press conference, but for now Sony hasn't confirmed (or denied) the existence of the consoles.

Be sure to head back to TheFeed for Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference to maybe learn more about this alleged slim PS3, and to find out what else the company is working on. The event starts at 9PM PT on September 18, 2012 and you can head to our Tokyo Game Show site then for all the updates you need.

Capcom Bringing Monster Hunter To Xbox 360

A Monster Hunter movie might be next according Resident Evil Retribution producer, Paul W.S. Anderson. In an interview with Cinema Today, Anderson was asked what other video game properties he'd like to give the Hollywood treatment to. Anderson responded, "Recently, I've been loving Monster Hunter! A film conversion is currently in planning."

This isn't a confirmation the movie is in  the works, but it certainly sounds like the gears are in motion. Capcom has been making Resident Evil films for years, I'd love to see them expand on another IP.

Do you think Monster Hunter would make a good movie?

Obsidian Teaser Site Asks Us What The Words Mean

Obsidian's website currently features what appears to be a countdown clock or a teaser site for an unannounced RPG project. The image [above] shows a picture of a dragon eating its own tail, or if you're the know, an "ouroboros." The number 4 is in the center. The site asks, "What do the words mean?"

"Nothing. The Dirge of Eír Glanfath is sound without form, a lone voice crying out in mourning because it must."

I don't know what this means, do you?

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale Character Leak? Shadow Of The Colossus, LocoRoco And Kat

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale screens have leaked possibly confirming a new character and level for Sony's brawler. All Games Beta has an image of Kat, which appears to be leaked from the official site. The other image, which is blurry even by cellphone photo standards, appears to be taken in a LocoRoco stage. The image shows Kat from the Vita game Gravity Rush as a playable character. The level mash-up appears to be from Shadow of the Colossus too. Some blogs are even speculating that the inclusion of the Colossus means Ico could be a playable character. You can see the image after the break.

Tokyo Game Show is coming up, I bet Sony will be announcing more PlayStation All-Stars details there!

iPhone 5 Pictures Leaked? Apple's New Taller, Slimmer iDevice

Leaked images and video of the iPhone 5 have hit the net. We're not able to confirm whether or not the images are real, but they look pretty authentic. The video, from Chinese tech site Vgooo.com, shows the relative size of the new phone compared to an iPhone 4s, as well as an attempt to boot the new phone, but a warning that the device is not associated with a registered developer account keeps it from starting up.

Apple is holding an event in San Francisco next week on September 12 where they'll announce the iPhone 5 and all of its features. We'll have to wait until then to see how legit this footage is. If it does turn out to be real, what do you think of the look of the skinny iPhone 5?

For more photos, hit the break.

The biggest Legend of Zelda game ever developed may be in the works for the Wii U. According to WiiUDaily, who claims to have a source in Japan, Nintendo is pulling in the heavy hitters for their most ambitious Zelda project yet.

The source detailed numerous aspects of Zelda Wii U's development. For all the rumors, keep reading.

World Ends With You Countdown Clock

I hate countdown clocks. They create a sense of hype, excitement and anticipation that too often disappoints when the reveal comes. Like Square Enix's recent The World Ends With You-related timer. When it appeared, people were of course looking forward to the reveal of a sequel to the game. Well sorry. It looks like it's for an iPhone port.

There's nothing wrong with an iPhone port of The World Ends With You. That's a pretty cool idea, actually... but is it a cool enough idea to put a week-long countdown clock? I think not.

Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's latest DLC pack, Dawnguard, was only just released on the PC, and is still absent from the PS3, but rumors are swirling indicating Bethesda is already working on the next content pack for Skyrim, called Hearthfire. Bethesda filed a trademark for Hearthfire in May but has declined to comment about it.

The official paperwork filed with the USPTO describes the filing as a, "Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices." I dare say we're on to something here!
