New Game Modes In Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies »

Treyarch has revealed a ton of new details of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's zombie mode this morning (as well as dropping a new Black Ops 2 zombie trailer) including a brief look at the four new playable characters, new weapons and three game modes, including an open-world mode.

Black Ops 2's "Tranzit" mode sees zombie hunters riding on a huge bus in an open world, where they'll travel from map to map, running down undead hordes. Like everything else in the haunted world of Black Ops 2's zombies, the bus is not safe. Gangs of the undead will attack your vehicle as you travel. They'll try to overtake you and eat your sweet, sweet brains, so keep your foot on the gas and your eyes on the rearview.

New Super Mario Bros. U

Wii U early adopters will have 23 games to choose from when Nintendo's new console launches on November 18, 2012. The two marquee first-party titles are New Super Mario Bros. U and Nintendo Land, though the console maker is also listed in the press release as the publisher on Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge and SiNG PARTY.

Nintendo's Wii U launch window covers a nearly five-month stretch of time, from the day the console is released to March 31, 2013. A total of 52 games are listed for release during that time, with some planned for as soon as late-November. Highly anticipated first-party games that aren't arriving on launch day, including Game & Wario, LEGO City: Undercover, The Wonderful 101, and Pikmin 3, are unfortunately just listed as "launch window" for now.

Check out the full list, broken down by publisher, in the original press release.

Wii U E3 2011

Nintendo's new console is coming out on November 18, and as you might expect, Nintendo has been eager to trumpet its launch games. According to the company, 22 Wii U games will be available right on launch day, and there will be over 50 games during the console's "Launch window." The Launch Window is defined as the time between November 18 and March 2013.

While the full list of 50 launch window games has been released, according to Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo, there are unannounced titles too. In an interview with IGN, Reggie said that that unannounced Wii U games are in development, including some that will release “during the launch window that we haven’t announced yet.”

No more information has been revealed about these games, so I can only assume that one if a reboot of Battle Toads.

Wii U Will Be Region-Locked

Posted September 24, 2012 - By Adam Rosenberg

Nintendo Wii U Release Date And Price Revealed

Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console will be region-locked, just like the Wii before it. The company confirmed as much to CVG, though anyone who's familiar with Nintendo's past products shouldn't be too surprised. Region-locking goes all the way back to the original NES, though there are workarounds for region lockouts on many of the Nintendo platforms.

Microsoft's Xbox 360 console is also techincally region-locked, though this largely applies to digital content; publishers are permitted to release region-free or region-locked games as they like. It's the same for Sony, at least in terms of recent hardware, with an even longer list of region-free games available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable.

tekken tag tournament 2

While Tekken Tag Tournament 2 may already be out for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the Wii U edition promises to add new features while bringing a Nintendo flare to the fighting game. At Tokyo Game Show 2012, Jake "Mushroom" Gaskill got to preview Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for the Wii U and took note of its new Mushroom Battle Mode and World Tekken Federation features. From his Tekken Tag Tournament 2 preview:

"In terms of actual content, Namco has incorporated quite a bit of Nintendo fandom into the game. First, there’s the Wii U exclusive Mushroom Battle mode, which not only features character growing/shrinking mushrooms and energizing stars, but also includes a remixed version of the Super Mario Bros. theme song and the energy star theme whenever a character picks it up. The sound effects of the pickups are also here. There are also classic outfits that various characters can wear. Namco has yet to confirm all of the Nintendo characters included in the game, but during my session, I saw Mario, Luigi, Samus, Zelda, and Fox."
