New Super Mario Bros. U is one of the surefire top-sellers that will be available when the Wii U launches on November 18, 2012, and Nintendo has some more details to share on what you can expect to find in the game beyond the expected side-scrolling platform action. Longtime fans will be pleased to learn the the game's world map returns to the same side-scrolling style that hasn't been seen in a Mario game since Super Mario World for the SNES.

While you're wandering around the map you might also encounter Nabbit, a new, randomly appearing character that can be access like any other level. The goal in Nabbit stages is to catch the fast-moving creature; do so and you'll receive a P-Acorn power-up -- it's the only way you can get one, in fact -- which allows for unlimited flight through an entire stage.

Transformers: Prime is the upcoming third-person action game featuring the Autobots and Decepticons fighting over a meteor made of dark energon. If this sounds familiar, it's because the game takes place during the events of the new Transformers: Prime cartoon. Check out the game's launch trailer below, in which Megatron shows off a new weapon and Team Prime defends against the oncoming onslaught. 

Upcoming horror game ZombiU will feature some interesting takes on multiplayer, including a capture-the-flag riff called King of Zombies, where one player with the Wii U GamePad places zombies around a flag with the touchscreen while the other has to shoot them down using the Wii U Pro Controller.

This all takes place in ZombiU's "Hell within Hell," a battle arena called St. George.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will launch with the Wii U on November 18, 2012. It's an increasingly familiar story for new gaming hardware: Nintendo's Wii U will be sold at a loss in order to offer consumers a "reasonable" price for the console. Company president and CEO Satoru Iwata confirmed the news himself during the company's latest investor briefing (via Joystiq).

Nintendo learned its lesson following the 3DS launch earlier this year and then the subsequent price drop that saw the handheld selling below cost as well. The 3DS is now selling at a profit once again, though between the handheld's price drop and the positioning of the Wii U as a loss-leader, Nintendo was forced to reduce its profit forecast for the current fiscal year.

Iwata expects that the company's financial situation will be "revitalized" to show more "'Nintendo-like' profits" down the road, but it's going to take some time (and some amount of success with the Wii U, presumably).

The interactive Assassin's Creed 3 trailer below allows you to choose Connor's adventure as he makes his way through the bloody battle of Bunker Hill towards his target Major John Pitcairn.

It shows off  the diversity that's featured in Assassin's Creed 3, and by simply watching and following along, you can choose to make Connor go in for kills with stealth or muscle, and even choose the path, weapons, and attacks he'll use against the enemy.
 

The Wii U is coming out next month along with a brand new Super Marios game, New Super Mario Bros. U. The 2D platforming title is the first true HD Mario game, and it will once again set Mario off on an adventure to save Princess Peach from Bowser. Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is all about working together and making decisions that will affect the world around you. In this Epic Mickey 2 "Oswald" gameplay trailer, you'll get to learn all about Mickey's new playable friend, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and find out how Oswald will be helping Mickey with his special remote control that can re-program robots and animatronics.

Nintendo's first TV ad for the Wii U, which aired during the latest episode of Homeland in the UK (via Polygon), lays out exactly what the November 18, 2012-releasing console can do. There's a feeling of goofiness that seems out of place for a Sunday night audience, but the content of the ad is exactly the sort of thing that Nintendo needs to be putting out there.

Starting with the declaration that this is "a brand new console with a brand new controller," the ad runs through a variety of Wii U-specific features that set the new console apart from the Wii. You get looks at a handful of games, but none of the titles are actually mentioned. Nintendo smartly puts the focus here on the hardware and letting people know how they'll be using it.

Ubisoft is bringing Gangnam Style, the Internet sensation from South Korean rapper PSY, into Just Dance 4 come November 2012. The DLC drop will offers all "motion sensor platform"-owning fans everywhere the opportunity to do a horse-riding dance in front of their TVs. This is a world I am happy to live in.

There's no confirmed release date other than "November" and the press release also notes that pricing "will be similar to previous Just Dance DLC." To save you the time of searching for the Gangnam Style video so you can watch it again, I've embedded it up top. Just hit play. You know you want to.

It's always fun to speculate about what the future of the gaming industry will look like. In this video from X-Play,  Polygon's Michael McWhertor and Gameological Society's Gus Mastrapa give their insight on the rise of social gaming, what the launch of the Wii U will mean for Nintendo, and how Microsoft and Sony are making smart moves when it comes to their online offerings.

Pikmin 3, one of the most eagerly awaited Nintendo titles, is set to launch next year, Spring 2013. The news comes from Iwata himself in his Iwata Asks column. The note appeared as a footnote, it read:

Pikmin: The first game in the Pikmin series, released for the Nintendo GameCube system in October 2001. Pikmin 3 is scheduled for release for the Wii U console in the spring of 2013.

In Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, the choice will be yours to decide if you want to use paint to bring things into existence, or thinner to remove things from the world. The concept of paint and thinner is explained in the all new gameplay trailer for Epic Mickey 2 below, which shows Mickey and Oswald using the magical paint brush to access all new areas of the Wasteland, and to bring new characters to life.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 follows the story of Alex Mason and his son David through two connected storylines between 1970 and 2025. Along with the single-player campaign, Black Ops 2 will also feature the biggest Call of Duty multiplayer experience to date, with all sorts of different zombie modes.
