Darksiders 2 is coming out this August, but that isn't going to stop us from getting the inside-story on the DLC that's planned for the game. At a recent press event, we hooked up with Jay Fitzloff, Producer at Vigil, to get the inside story on the DLC for Darksiders 2.

"Our angle with DLC is not to just to be something simple, like a quick side quest... It's full content," Fitzloff said. "Our first one is called Arghul's Tomb, and it's an entire new dungeon in the game."

"On the surface, if I say it's a new dungeon, people kinda say, 'Oh, it that it?' but if you play Darksiders 2 and see how big our dungeons are, how intricate our they are, and what that means, you'll realize I'm not talking about a quick dungeon you're done with in a few minutes, I'm talking about hours and hours of gameplay."

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

The Castlevania series is the focus of much speculation right now thanks to rumors suggesting that Konami is planning to reveal two new titles at 2012's E3 in June. First up is Castlevania: Mirror of Fate, a rumored Nintendo 3DS game from the same producer and director behind the console release, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

Dutch website N1ntendo reported the rumor in a now-removed post that referenced an invite from Konami to a pre-E3 event where the game would be revealed. Lords of Shadow producer David Cox responded to a fan query on Twitter with the suggestion that the report is misinformed, though as Polygon points out, Konami does own web domains connected with the title Castlevania: Mirror of Fate.

Wii-U Controller Seems To Have Control Sticks

It looks like Nintendo has changed the design of the Wii U's controller, adding control sticks instead of discs. The above photo was reportedly tweeted by a QA tester at TT Games, but has since been removed. As you can see, the control discs featured in the original controller design are gone, in favor of more traditional sticks. Check out the difference:

The Avengers Video Game Coming: Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth

Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth is coming out for the Kinect and Wii-U. Ubisoft and Marvel Entertainment announced that they are teaming up to create a game based on the blockbusting superhero tong. The title will feature more than 20 characters from the Marvel universe and is based on the “Secret Invasion” comics, not the film. We don't know the release date, but it will obviously not be out until after the Nintendo Wii-U launches.

“The idea that we’re making a motion-control version of The Avengers is a unique proposition if you compare that to superhero games of the past,” said Tony Key, Ubisoft’s vice president of sales and marketing said to The Associated Press. “This is the perfect type of game for that because these characters are very action oriented. They’re always fighting and throwing things.”

Further details on the game are scarce, but Ubisoft promises more details at this year's E3 in June. Speaking of which, G4 will be all over E3 2012, bringing you all the news, videos, and surprises you could possibly need or imagine.

Earlier today, a trailer for Rayman Legends leaked all over the internet, and along with showing off a pretty cool looking game in an awesome franchise, the trailer also revealed a ton of info on the functionality of the Wii U.

First, let's dispense with Ubisoft's official reaction to the leaked trailer. The company responded like this:

"An internal video showing images of Rayman Origins' sequel has leaked over the Internet. This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features. This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. Ubisoft confirms the development of Rayman Legends handled by Michel Ancel and his team in Montpellier."

There's a leaked trailer currently making the rounds online for Rayman Legends, a sequel to 2011's excellent Rayman Origins that is now confirmed for the Wii U. Game confirmation and first actual console footage all in one shot. Let's back up a bit first.

It all started when Fusible spotted a Ubisoft domain registration for RaymanLegends.com and Rayman-Legends.com on April 26, 2012. The title had been floating around, but this registration was the first sign that it was anything more than a concept. Less than 24 hours later -- also known as "this morning" -- a trailer leaked online showing off a two-minute chunk of the Wii U game and its features.

Nintendo's New Console Is Called The Wii U

The price of Nintendo's Wii U won't be revealed until sometime after E3, a newly released financial report from console maker confirms. Don't expect to hear anything official about the price or the release date until later on in summer 2012 (most likely). The smart money is on a late fall launch for the Wii U, because that's just how these things tend to work.

In addition, the report confirms that Nintendo plans to beef up its digital distribution offerings with downloadable versions of major retail releases launching day and date with one another, at least for first-party titles. This new era will begin in August 2012 with the release of New Super Mario Bros 2 for the 3DS. This new day-and-date retail/digital release strategy will also extend to the Wii U once it launches.

Pikmin 3 Development Reportedly

According to Nintendo Power magazine, Pikmin 2 is coming out for the Wii in North America... finally. You Pikmin 2 fans have been waiting for a long time -- Pikmin 2 was originally announced for the Wii way back in 2009, and folks in Europe have been playing since then. So if you need a reason to blow the dust off your Wii, you'll have it soon.

It's not known if anything new is planned for the North American release of Pikmin 2, a game that was originally a GameCube title.

If you need a reason for the supposed release, consider this: Nintendo has said it's showing off Pikmin 3 for the Wii U at E3 this year, and if there's a better way to remind gamers why they love this important series of games, the realease of the second game in the series will do it.

Speaking of E3 2012, allow me to hype G4's coverage for a moment. We will be all over E3 2012, bringing you game previews, news, videos and all kinds of surprises and great stuff.

Crysis 3

Crytek's director of creative development Rasmus Hoejengaard doesn't think you should expect to see Crysis 3 released for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U platform. His actual words? "Not a fat chance," he said in an interview with Destructoid at a recent hands-on event.

Hoejengaard didn't offer any reason why the Wii U would be left out of the mix. Presumably it has to do with the stage of development that Crysis 3 has reached and the amount of work that would be involved at this point, so far into development, to bring that over to another platform, and one with a completely unique control scheme.

Darksiders 2

Darksiders 2 has been delayed, with the June 26, 2012 released pushed back a few months to an unspecified date in August. The sequel to Darksiders needed more development time in order to "to ensure we meet the high quality threshold that we are committed to achieving," according to a FAQ on the game's official website.

THQ has a lot riding on the success of Darksiders 2, as the company recently had to lay off a slew of employees due to massive financial losses in 2011. The company's president even took a 50 percent pay cut, signaling to investors a desire to be a lean, more focused company that puts out successful games.

"This is great news for the team at Vigil, because it allows additional time for polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting," the delay announcement post read. "In game development, more time is always a good thing for quality and the Vigil team is dedicated to providing the definitive Darksiders experience."

Once we hear more news on Darksiders 2, we'll be sure to update you with the latest info. Check out our latest Darksiders 2 hands-on preview to help make the wait go by a little faster.

Pikmin 3 Development Reportedly

Pikmin 3 for Wii U will be shown off at E3 2012, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed in a recent interwith the El Mundo, a Spanish-language newspaper. This was later confirmed to Game Informer in a statement from Nintendo of America:

"In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Pikmin game will be shown at the E3 Expo in June. He believes that anyone who has played Pikmin games in the past will enjoy playing."

Miyamoto previously talked about a new Pikminduring the Nintendo roundtable discussion at E3 2011. He was also quoted in March 2010 as saying the development on the game was "well underway" at the time. This is the first official acknowledgment from Nintendo that the game will be shown, however. It'll be in good company too. Miyamoto revealed in the same El Mundo interview -- and Nintendo later confirmed -- that a new Super Mario game for Wii U will be shown as well.

Wii U: Nintendo's New Console;

A new Mario game for Wii U will be shown at E3 2012. The news originates from Spanish newspaper El Mundo, who interviewed Nintendo's spiritual father/puckish delight Shigeru Miyamoto, and posted that Miyamoto "anticipates that the next E3 will present a Super Mario for the new console."

Nintendo confirmed the news, saying: "In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year's E3 Expo. We'll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date."
