The Gamescom 2012 trailer for Rayman Legends shows the game's Wii U potential. But this isn't just a trailer to show off how the game could be played with the Wii U tablet, it's a trailer confirming the Ubisoft title will be a Wii U exclusive. Rayman Legends is set to be released on the Wii U "Christmas 2012."

The Wii U is slated for Fall 2012, but Nintendo has been mum on a release date. CVG is now reporting that manufacturing issues will prevent the console from launching in that window in Europe. Due to an issue with the Wii U Gamepad, a device that is both a controller and a tablet, the Wii U might not launch until December. These manufacturing problems are said to be the reason Nintendo has yet to lock down a launch date.
The report goes on to say Nintendo is dead-set on releasing the Wii U before the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, giving consumers ample time to buy it for the Holiday season.
Barbara the viking is Rayman Legends' newest character, and to help get your more acquainted with the bite-sized babe, Ubisoft's sent over a teaser trailer. From the video, we know that Barbara wields a hefty battle axe and loves using it to beat up baddies and to get from one action-packed adventure to the next.
As anyone who has spent any amount of time with the Assassin’s Creed series knows, brutal and “Oh sh*t!”-inducing combat is one of its most joyous cornerstones. And if you’ve been keeping up with any of our Assassin’s Creed 3 coverage, like our video feature on the evolution of the franchise's combat system, then you know full well that this tradition not only continues with Ubisoft Montreal’s latest installment but has been taken to remarkable new levels. At this year's E3 and Comic-Con, Ubisoft showed off hefty new portions of gameplay and gave us a look at some of hero Connor’s impressive skill set in the area of messin’ fools up.
Now, as in previous games, because the animations are so quick and slick (i.e. so expertly crafted), it can be easy to miss all the nuances that go into to bringing these insane moves to life. So to help give you a better sense of what Connor is capable of on the battlefield--and what he’s actually doing from an animation perspective--we decided to put together this little takedown breakdown of some of these new moves that should educate as well as inspire a healthy amount of “Dear lord!” shouting.
1. The human shield maneuver should prove to be a valuable one, especially when facing down a squad of musket-packing Red Coats. With so many guns on the battlefield this time around, I would expect this to be a very popular move throughout the campaign, and not just because it's so badass.
It looks a lot like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is coming to Wii U. Today's evidence: Pre-order tags have appeared at a Best Buy store that indicate there is a Wii U version of Black Ops 2 on the way.
According to GoNintendo, pre-order cards on display were created by a Best Buy employee, but the UPC sticker on them is the real-deal.
"The barcodes he placed on them are the actual preorder UPC to preorder the game. He also said the SKU's exist in the Best Buy system."
Although it hasn't been announced yet, I'd put my money on BlOPs 2 coming to the Wii U, giving gamers perhaps their first next-gen, hardcore gaming experience. We'll give you details as we get them.

Amazon Canada has posted a few images of game boxart for Wii U titles. A Wii U launch line-up has not been announced, as a release date for the console hasn't been revealed either.
The three Wii U games are Just Dance 4, Assassin's Creed 3, and Avengers: Battle for Earth. They are all Ubisoft titles. The release dates for these games are listed as the date their 360 and PS3 counter parts are being released, which is most likely an oversight on Amazon's part.

Masahiro Sakurai, the game director behind Super Smash Bros 4 or Super Smash Bros Wii U, recently spoke about what gamers can expect to see in Nintendo's upcoming brawler. Super Smash Bros. Wii U was announced at E3 2011 but there were no assets to go along with the announcement. More than a year has gone by and the only piece of news we have on the game is it's being developed by Namco.
Thanks to a recent interview with IGN, we're beginning to learn more about the 4th installment in the Super Smash Bros. series. For one, Sakurai and his team are working on ways to implement the Wii U tablet.
"The GameCube controller is not the only way to control Smash Bros., so we will look into ways that fits the Wii U."
The inclusion of the Wii U tablet may be the only major change to the game. With three games under the franchise's belt, they don't really need to add any new gameplay mechanics for the sake of it.
Gearbox Software wants to address all of those unanswered questions from the Alien movie-verse in Aliens: Colonial Marines, and a newly released dev diary takes a closer look at how that goal is being achieved. We've still got a ways to go before the game's February 12. 2013 release, so hopefully these new looks at the action will tide you over.
What other breeds of Xenomorph might there be? What do Smartgun-wielders see when they look through that eyepiece thing? Where the heck were scoped weapons in the movies? Most importantly, is there anything more awesome than the pulse rifle? The cool thing about Aliens: Colonial Marines being a canonical follow-up to James Cameron's Aliens is that it gives Gearbox a pretty free hand to fill in some of the blanks that the movie just couldn't cover. This dev diary gives you a good sense of that.
Mass Effect 3 has been confirmed as a Wii U launch title, marking the series' first appearance on a Nintendo console. We learned about Mass Effect 3 coming to the Wii U back at E3 and hoped to hear a bit more information on the port at EA's Summer Showcase, but other than the launch confirmation, BioWare kind of left us hanging.
We're not sure how BioWare is going to catch up gamers who didn't have the chance to play ME1 or ME2, nor how they're going to incorporate the multiplayer portion of the game yet. When we get more details on the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3, we'll let you know.
Fifa 13 has been confirmed as a Wii U launch title. Electronic Arts made the announcement during their summer showcase. According to EA, Fifa for the Wii U will come with special perks and enhancements. Gamers will be able to use the Wii U's touchscreen on the gamepad to pass, slide, or shoot. Fifa 13 will also feature a new Manager Hub. You'll be able to alter your strategies on the fly with the GamePad.
Electronic Arts also announced some new info for Fifa 13 for the iOS. For the first time ever, the game will feature online capability and you'll be able to upload your replays to YouTube.
Fifa 13 is coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 30.
