The Best Oyster Stew

I've never had oyster stew in my life. Honestly, I never even planned on ever having oyster stew. The hard-shelled creature has never looked that appetizing to me. So, it's a little surprising that I suddenly have a craving for all things oyster after reading this amazing recipe from Esquire.  Trust me, this delicous stew will make anyone an oyster convert . The ingredients are relativley simple, and don't call for anything too exotic (I'm looking at you, Knife Fight). Don't worry, a little searching at the grocery store should get you on track and ready to cook the best stew of your life. So, what are you waiting for? Check out this ingredients list and get ready for a kick in the tastebuds, courtesy of the American South.  Here's what you'll need:

  • 3 tbsp of dark-roasted sesame or benne seeds
  • 1 1/2 cups of chicken stock
  • 2 sliced of smoked bacon
  • 1/4-inch dice
  • 1/4 cup of Vidalia
