Captain America: The Winter Soldier, next year's unfrozen super-soldier sequel will have more than its fair share of new faces to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it looks like four more have jumped on board, including an alumnus from Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. (Sacrilege?) According to Twitch, actors, (pictured left to right) Chin Han, Jenny Agutter, Alan Dale and Bernard White have been cast as new members of S.H.I.E.L.D. working under Robert Redford's character, Alexander Pierce.
While much of the film's details are still under wraps, Redford's Agent Alexander Pierce has recently been the focus of rumors and speculation after the actor may have accidentally revealed that there is more to the character than we were meant to believe. Of course, the aspect surrounding who Piece may or may not actually be has not been confirmed in any form. However, what is known, is that Pierce will be portrayed as a high-ranking official in S.H.I.E.L.D. The four additions to the team will be working directly under the dubious dignitary. That is the extent of the info at this point in time.
For Chin Han, who, in The Dark Knight, famously fell victim to the Joker's literal effort to "watch the world burn," is also coming off another DC Comics stint on TV's Arrow. He now takes his first stab at a Marvel property. Jenny Agutter, who has been consistently visible in television and film for decades, may be best remembered as the barely-clothed romantic interest in Logan's Run. However, she has actually already been in the MCU with a small role as a World Security Council member in The Avengers. Alan Dale is also a ubiquitously-working veteran actor, who you may have seen recently in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and stints on several TV shows like Entourage, The Killing, and Lost. Bernard White also possesses a vast resume of film and TV appearances going back to the early 80's. While sporadic TV stints seem to be his forte, he has also been seen in prominent films like The Matrix Revolutions and City of Angels.
The newfound foursome now join an already-impressive cast headlined by Chris Evans' juiced justice-bringer consisting of Robert Redford, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Jones, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, UFC champion, Georges St-Pierre, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, and Sebastian Stan as Cap's unfrozen friend-turned-foe in the titular Winter Soldier.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier showcases more "shields" than it knows what to do with when it hits theaters on April 4, 2014.
