Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues its tour-de-tease today with the ultimate culmination: The full-length trailer for the series.
Clocking in at 2:48, this is a true substantive look at this fall's new Marvel Cinematic Universe spinoff featuring a new team of superhero-sighting suits keeping the world safe from incursions from the powerful elements of the unknown. This time, we get a look at things from the perspective of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) a S.H.I.E.L.D. (or as he dutifully reminds us, "Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division") agent who's about to receive one hell of a clearance upgrade and is surprised to learn its primary perk: Getting to work under the (presumed) dead in Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). And with that, the brief mystery of Level 7 is revealed.
On another front, a well-meaning, but pesky hacker, Skye (Chloe Bennet) tries to protect the latest super-powered blip on the radar (J. August Richards,) from becoming the next thing to be mysteriously whisked away by the seemingly shadowy government agency, when she finds herself getting nabbed...and then recruited. (Richards' character is rumored to be Elvin Haliday, aka "Rage" from Marvel's The New Warriors.)
With the action samples proving intense as promised, we're also properly introduced to teammates, tech/gizmo guy, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), biochemist, Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), and the ass-kicking airborne pilot, Agent Melinda May (Ming Na-Wen).
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. makes a self-note to never tell Agent Coulson there's no way when it hits TV this fall on its scheduled time of Tuesdays, 8pm on ABC. Check out the full trailer below!
