The Wolverine has officially released a set of new photos showing Hugh Jackman's Wolverine looking moody and alone, which for him, is simply looking normal.
With director, James Mangold having just dropped the news that the long-awaited TRAILER for the X-Man's summer solo sequel will debut on March 27 online and at theaters in 3D and 2D with G.I. Joe: Retaliation the following weekend, it seems that the film's hype machine is about to be activated. In the meantime, we have these new photos at which to gawk.
The most intriguing of the bunch (seen above) gives us a nice glimpse of Logan in Japan with unsheathed adamantium, having already shish-kabobed some poor bastard. Our unknown victim either represented some bad business with ninja organization, The Hand, or was simply trying to sell Logan a timeshare near Mount Fuji and got a bit too pushy in his pitch. Either way, it seems that this formal affair, possibly a funeral, which had Logan and some background people dressed in black got interrupted with this sudden shanking. -- I guess it's all in a day's work when you're Wolverine.
The other two photos seem to have Logan looking glum amidst the elements of rain and snow. Although, the shot of our melancholy mutant getting drenched in the rain seems to prominently feature a plastic-covered camera on a crane, indicating that either it's behind-the-scenes, or that The Wolverine will take an experimental approach which breaks the fourth wall. (Although, how funny would that be? Logan talking to the camera like he's Ferris Beuller after eviscerating gangs of ninjas.)
The Wolverine does more to raise insurance premiums on Japanese properties than any natural disaster could when it hits theaters on July 26. Check out the rest of the pics below!
