Ouya the company confirms on Kickstarter that Ouya the console will ship to backers on March 28, 2013. A wider launch follows in June, at which point you'll be able to grab it from Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target for $99.99.
In related news, thatgamecompany co-founder Kellee Santiago is now taking point at Ouya on developer relations. She had this to say in a statement: "Ouya gets it. This is the first console company that really understands how important it is to remove the barriers to development. By freeing up the development process, Ouya is opening up new doors in console gaming."
You can also add three more to the list of developers working on exclusive content for the console: Kim Swift and Airtight Games (Quantum Conundrum), Minority Media (Papo & yo), and Tripwire Interactive (Red Orchestra) are all confirmed. Tripwire will also be bringing its first-person puzzler The Ball to Ouya in March, which pretty much outs it as a launch title.
In a final bit of news, Ouya announced the winners of the CREATE game jam that it partnered with Kill Screen on. You can view the full list, along with additional details on the rest of this news, on Ouya's Kickstarter update page.
