It seems more and more like Valve's rumored Steam Box is matter of "when" rather than "if," and this latest hint of the company's future in hardware only reinforces that. Valve electronics engineer Ben Krasnow reportedly gave a talk at the EHSM 2012 conference in late December where he revealed a few Steam Box details, according to German website Golem.de (via PCGamer).
According to Krasnow, the Steam Box will be a Linux machine. The news shouldn't come as much of a surprise given Gabe Newell's concerns about Windows 8 and Valve's work so far on developing a Linux version of Steam. Krasnow also let slip the news that a more official reveal will happen sometime in 2013, either during/close to GDC in March or at E3 in June.
