Fans really took to Kevin Tancharoen's film vision of Mortal Kombat in the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series, so it's no surprise that there's a second season incoming with the writer/director writing and directing once again. Mortal Kombat: Legacy will return with season two in Q2 2013, a press release confirms.
Casting is already underway for the project, with a number of key roles now confirmed. Casper Van Dien (of Starship Troopers fame) notably replaces Matt Mullins in the role of Johnny Cage. Also joining the cast are Glee's Harry Shum Jr. as Kuai Liang and Brian Tee (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) as Liu Kang. Ian Anthony Dale will reprise his first-season role of Scorpion and, in an AMAZING twist, Cary Tagawa, from 1995's Mortal Kombat movie, is back as well in his Shang Tsung role.
