Actor, Brett Dalton may still be a relatively unknown newcomer, but nevertheless, it appears that he's ready to suit up with the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the upcoming spinoff TV series of the Marvel films to help defend the planet from various baddies.
It is being reported that Dalton has been cast as a character named "Agent Grant Ward," who will be joining the existing cast of Ming-Na Wen as "Agent Melinda May," Elizabeth Henstridge as "Agent Gemma Simmons," Iain De Caestecker as "Agent Leo Fitz," and, lest anyone forget the main event, Clark Gregg returning to the franchise as "Agent Phil Coulson."
Dalton will be bringing somewhat of a thin resume to the show with only a few notable appearances on TV's Blue Bloods, Army Wives, and the upcoming TV movie, Killing Lincoln. However, he will be filling the role of a potential scene-stealer in Agent Ward, who has been described in casting details as quiet, temperamental, anti-social, but cool under fire; "the kind of guy that grows on you." (Could he be the Daryl Dixon of S.H.I.E.L.D.?)
Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. is reportedly set to begin production (...okay, "assemble") in January.
