Infinity Ward Squashes Call of Duty Subscription Service Rumors...Kind Of

The annual Call of Duty release for 2012 is in stores as of this week, but that hasn't stopped one unnamed source from spilling some details about the 2013 edition of Activision's popular FPS. Take all of this with the caveat that it might be completely false, but a source tells Siliconera that "Call of Duty 2013" continues the Modern Warfare story arc.

The source also reveals that the next COD protagonist is "a battle hardened veteran in his mid-thirties with a nihilistic point of view." I hear from my own (completely nonexistent and fabricated) sources that the game will also feature guns and explosions. A high body count is expected as well. A few other actual details are revealed, including a handful of lines from the script that are appropriately military. No spoilers here. Unless "the next Call of Duty game continues Modern Warfare" counts as a spoiler (hint: it doesn't).
