Electronic Arts has formally announced the opening of a new studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, called EA Ghost. Job listings on the new development house's website confirm that at least one AAA game is in the works, though the range of top-level job openings doesn't paint a very detailed picture.
"Vehicle Artist" is listed among the roles that EA is looking to fill, suggesting that some aspect of the studio's mysterious first game will involve driving. The job listing for VFX Artist further hints at vehicle-driven play, with the role requiring experience in creating "tire smoke, back fire, realistic collision FX (debris, sparks), and atmospheric effects."
It also seems likely based on the listings that the mystery game will be built using Frostbite 2 and will include online play. The evidence in the EA Ghost job listings suggest that the first effort for the studio is a racing game of some kind, though we'll of course have to wait for that to be confirmed with a more formal announcement.
