We're a little bit more than one week from the release of Rovio's most high-profile cross-franchise effort to date, Angry Birds Star Wars. There's been some worry that the new game will simply amount to an Angry Birds Space knockoff with Star Wars skins, but a newly released gameplay trailer is here to set you straight on that count.
The new birds we get a peek at are all sorts of Star Wars-y. The Luke Skywalker bird (a fitting surname for a Force-sensitive avian) can swing his lightsaber around in flight, taking out whatever's in its path. Then there's the Leia-bird, which can... shoot pink eyebeams? I don't remember that from any of the Original Trilogy movies. Maybe it was a feature of the Special Edition?
Kidding aside, this game looks badass.
