The latest TV ad for The Hobbit is here. Wargs! Trolls! Sting! All sorts of Tolkien-y awesomeness! Yes, Peter Jackson's return to Middle-earth continues to look mighty sweet in this 30-second flash of images from the December 14, 2012 release.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the first of three planned movies that will adapt J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings prequel for the big screen. The book itself doesn't have enough story to sustain three full-length features, which is why Jackson will incorporate a significant amount of additional material -- based on Tolkien's lesser-known writings -- to flesh out a fuller picture of Middle-earth. Expect to see much more of that come through in the second and third movies; I'm guessing that this first one will draw pretty heavily from the original book.
