Microsoft confirmed an October 26, 2012 release date -- the same day Windows 8 arrives -- for its Surface tablet back in July, and now, three months later, we've got some unconfirmed word on what the new tech will be priced at. An updated and now-removed product listing in Microsoft's online store points, unsurprisingly, to iPad-like pricing for the range of tablets (via TechCrunch).
Assuming the now-absent numbers were accurate, you'll be able to nab yourself a 32GB tablet without the keyboard-enabled Touch Cover for $499. An extra $100 on that price will get you the tablet with the cover, though the Touch Cover and Type Cover can also be purchased separately, for $119.99 and $129.99, respectively. The most expensive Surface option is a 64 GB tablet with included Touch Cover, at $699.
Remember that none of these prices are officially confirmed just yet. They certainly seem to be within the realm of possibility, especially since they were actually posted IN the Microsoft Store, but bear in mind that some of those numbers may change with the official reveal.
