Metro: Last Light Ditching Multiplayer Mode

Metro Last Light

When Metro: Last Light arrives in early 2013, it won't feature any multiplayer modes. THQ and 4A Games had hinted at the inclusion of an online component, but a new post on the game's official website confirms that such plans have been scrapped.

"Throughout the development of Metro: Last Light a small, dedicated team had been working on a number of multiplayer prototypes," the post reads. "After E3, we decided to fold this multiplayer team back into the main group and focus 100% of the studio’s resources on the single player campaign. As a result, Metro: Last Light will not ship with a multiplayer component."

It's possible that Last Light will one day be updated to include a multiplayer mode, but for now, 4A is "100% focused on the single player campaign and not thinking beyond that." Were any of you looking forward to this multiplayer mode, or is story all you care about in a Metro game, as the post suggests?
