We knew back in August that download service Steam was expanding its offerings to bring consumers non-gaming apps, and today, the first of them are live.

The Software titles now available via Steam are:

  • ArtRage Studio Pro
  • CameraBag 2
  • GameMaker: Studio
  • 3D-Coat
  • 3DMark Vantage
  • 3DMark 11

The first software titles are obviously geared toward creativity and game-making itself, and seem like a perfect group for a smooth transition to a variety of different kinds of content. Many of the launch titles will take advantage of popular Steamworks features, such as easy installation, automatic updating, and the ability to save your work to your personal Steam Cloud space so your files may travel with you. GameMaker Studio even features integration with Steam Workshop that allows GameMaker users to share their work via Steam.

To celebrate their newborns, Steam is offering all these non-game programs at 10 percent off their regular price, all week.
