A newly launched Twitter feed for @MingyJongo (via Polygon) seeks to gauge the gaming community's interest in a possible "spiritual successor" to Banjo-Tooie, the Rare-developed action-platformer that came to Nintendo 64 in 2000 (and Xbox Live Arcade in 2009). The feed appears to be owned and operated by a representative of "core members of the original team."
There's no action plan on the table yet, but various tweets offer some hints of what to expect. For starters, and just to be clear: the operative term here is "spiritual successor." This wouldn't be another Banjo game, but rather a new game that aims to capture the spirit of the N64 classic. The dev team is apparently looking at Unity as the engine to build the game on, and a Kickstarter bid is being considered if news posts like the one you're reading right now help to generate enough interest.
So. What's your take on this? Would you like to see ex-Rare folks come together to deliver spiritual successor to Banjo-Tooie?
