Treyarch has revealed a ton of new details of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's zombie mode this morning (as well as dropping a new Black Ops 2 zombie trailer) including a brief look at the four new playable characters, new weapons and three game modes, including an open-world mode.
Black Ops 2's "Tranzit" mode sees zombie hunters riding on a huge bus in an open world, where they'll travel from map to map, running down undead hordes. Like everything else in the haunted world of Black Ops 2's zombies, the bus is not safe. Gangs of the undead will attack your vehicle as you travel. They'll try to overtake you and eat your sweet, sweet brains, so keep your foot on the gas and your eyes on the rearview.

In Black Ops 2's zombie story mode players will collect items scattered throughout the maps. You'll need these parts to assemble useful devices, so you better start taking those engineering classes.
Survival Mode is the same kind of survival or horde experience you're used to in previous Call of Duty and other multiplayer games. You select an area in the open-world zombie map and see how long you and your friends can last before the zombies eat your brains like pudding. You'll also have the option of customizing the starting rounds, challenges, and perks to create a custom game-type. Do you want Magic Items turned off? Turn them off!
Lastly, Black Ops 2's Zombies will feature Grief Mode, a four-versus-four team deathmatch type-game with a twist. The goal is to be the last human team standing, but you can't attack the other team. You let the zombies do that. Between two and eight players face off in various team combinations, and AI zombies occupy the area too. The zombies don't care about loyalty.. They want to kill everyone, so you have to survive longer than your enemies. You'll be able to use certain items to trigger the zombies to attack the opposing team, proving, once again, that man is his own worst enemy, even the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
Treyarch didn't reveal many new details of who, exactly, the characters in the zombie story mode are, choosing instead to give short glimpses of the characters in the new Zombies trailer. After the last game's "Dead Presidents" characters, we're hoping for something similarly outrageous and awesome. Personally, I want to be zombie-killing Reagan.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 launches on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 13. The game is coming to the Wii U on November 18.
