Second Life Creator Announces Patterns: Open-World Sandbox Game

Posted September 20, 2012 - By Stephen Johnson

Here's an in-development game to keep an eye on: Patterns. The pre-beta open-world PC game is being developed by Linden Labs, the people who brought the world Second Life, and judging from the trailer you see below, it's a little like Minecraft, except with more realistic object physics and more complexity. Also, triangles. Lots of triangles.

Hopefully, the business plan for Patterns doesn't involve selling tons of space for advertisers and creating a game that is insanely complicated without actually being fun.

Check Patterns out in the video below, and if it seems like something you want to be into, sign up for the Patterns beta.
