Rez Creator Is Taking A Break From Games Development

Child of Eden

Tetsuya Mizuguchi, creator of Rez and Child of Eden, is taking some time off from the day to day crunch of blowing our minds with pretty pictures and mesmerizing music, Q Entertainment's Nobuhiko Shimizu confirmed to Eurogamer in an interview. "Right now, Mizuguchi does not produce the games," he said.

"He's now more of a spokesperson. He's not developing stuff right now," Shimizu explained. Mizuguchi apparently stepped away from the heavy lifting at the company he co-founded after the release of 2011's Child of Eden. He's now focusing on academic work while the rest of Q continues to do what it does. The current directive? Combining music games with card-battle games, according to Shimizu.
