Corey and Lori Cole, the creators of Sierra's Quest for Glory series (originally known as Hero's Quest!), are cashing in on their street cred like Al Lowe and The Two Guys From Andromeda before them with a new Kickstarter effort for a project called Hero-U. The funding initiative hasn't launched yet, but the pair will be working with Australian studio Brawsome on what amounts to a turn-based puzzle game that will unfold in five parts.
The whole thing is set in a fantasy world juvie house, with the main character having been caught during a botched thieves' guild initiation. The Hero-U website describes a game that includes tactics-based combat and branching dialogue, with exploration, social elements, and, of course, puzzles as well. We'll undoubtedly see and hear more when the Kickstarter launches on October 19, as the Coles reveal in an interview with Mashable.
Which was your favorite Quest for Glory game? Shadows of Darkness was probably the most elaborate and well-designed, but nothing tops Trial By Fire in my book.
