Just because EA's upcoming Command & Conquer: Generals 2 is going free-to-play, that doesn't mean fans will miss out on the popular single player side of the series. EA Labels president Frank Gibeau confirmed that the upcoming Frostbite 2-powered RTS will include support for solo-minded players in an interview with Polygon.
"The beauty of free-to-play, is that we can adjust and adapt to what we're hearing," he explained. "It's a very different model because you don't have to build as much. You build in response to your audience." Gibeau didn't offer any additional details on how the game's microtransaction pricing will work, but the confirmation of some kind of single player mode should be enough to satisfy longtime fans of the series for now.
