NHL 12 offered players the ability to create their own female skater, but EA Sports confirms in a press release that NHL 13 will take things a step further with the addition of actual female players to the game's roster of legends. Former Olympians Angela Ruggiero, from Team USA, and Hayley Wickenheiser, from Team Canada, join a lineup that already includes stars like Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Dominik Hasek.
Oddly, the Legends roster WON'T include goaltender Manon Rhéaume, the first and only women to ever play in a National Hockey League game. She never appeared during the regular season, but Rhéaume signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992, appearing in pre-season exhibition games that year and the following year. She also won a silver medal playing alongside Wickenheiser on Team Canada at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
