People Can Fly will be introducing a new-to-the-series free-for-all multiplayer mode in Gears of War: Judgment, OXM confirms. The upcoming prequel is featured as a cover story in the magazine's November issue, which should be hitting newsstands and mailboxes "in the next few weeks."
For multiplayer novices, free-for-all -- also referred to by some as deathmatch -- is an every-soldier-for-him/herself mode in which the most effective strategy is "shoot everything, ask questions never." Gears has always featured team-oriented thinking in its multiplayer modes, and it should be fun to see how chaotic the action can get when half a dozen Lancer chainsaws converge on one point. I'll be the guy in the corner, mowing the duelists down.
