Rovio's fowl sensation Angry Birds is teaming up with the band Green Day. Brace yourselves, this is weird. The result will be a musical version of Angry Birds Friends. The brand new episode of their Facebook game will include 10 levels; all of which will be themed and feature punk rock pigs.
Green Day fans will be happy to hear read they'll be able to listen to their latest single, "Oh Love."
"We're all fans of Angry Birds," lead singler Billy Joe Armstrong said in a statement. "It's such an addictive game that when we first started playing we couldn't stop. Go Team Green!"
The Green Day update to Angry Birds Friends will debut this fall. For now, Angry Birds Friends will only be released on Facebook, but an iOS version is a possibility.
This is a bizarre announcement, right? Just when I thought Angry Birds couldn't be any more ingrained into our culture, a band like Green Day signs up to promote them! I can't tell if this move is genius or the beginning of the end. What do you think?
