Sony has "abandoned" the U.S. trademark for The Last Guardian. Before you freak out and throw something because you think this means The Last Guardian is canceled, keep in mind that trademark abandonment doesn't reflect the development of the game, but probably an accident on Sony's part.
According to the USPTO.gov trademark database Trademarkia, the mark was abandoned on August 6 as no statement of use was filed for the game. Basically what this means is that Sony registered the mark, but didn't use it for a certain period of time. The trademark was filed in 2009.
The Last Guardian has been MIA for the past few years. A few weeks ago, Sony confirmed the game was still in development, but did not offer any other information.
I might be a negative Nancy, but I just don't think this game is ever going to come out. Do you still have faith?

Update: Sony sent a statement to Wired's Chris Kohler: "The Last Guardian is still in development."
