EverQuest 2 gamers are going to get a new way to express themselves. Sony Online Entertainment announced SOEmote at E3, and it's finally ready. It allows your facial movements to be tracked on your in-game character. You can even change the way your voice sounds too, making sure your character sounds exactly how you imagined. All you need is a webcam, a microphone, and a positive attitude.
SOEmote is now live for EverQuest 2, so start making some weird faces! EverQuest 2 is free-to-play so there really isn't an excuse not to try this.
I don't know about you, but I am stoked for this tech. SOEmote brings gamers a huge step closer to being the hero they're playing as. I also think it's prerry impressive that we're seeing the implementation of this tech in a free-to-play game, not a mega blockbuster game with Kinect. If I had admin access to my work PC, I'd be playing this right now.
