Gearbox Software wants to address all of those unanswered questions from the Alien movie-verse in Aliens: Colonial Marines, and a newly released dev diary takes a closer look at how that goal is being achieved. What other breeds of Xenomorph might there be? What do Smartgun-wielders see when they look through that eyepiece thing? Where the heck were scoped weapons in the movies? Most importantly, is there anything more awesome than the pulse rifle? The cool thing about Aliens: Colonial Marines being a canonical follow-up to James Cameron's Aliens is that it gives Gearbox a pretty free hand to fill in some of the blanks that the movie just couldn't cover.
