Capcom's Captivate Event Roundup: Street Fighter X Tekken, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Asura's Wrath, Dragon's Dogma, And More

UPDATE: Capcom confirms that the Easy Mode will be added to Dragon's Dogma in the U.S. via a title update coming out on August 6, 2012.

ORIGINAL POST: Capcom is looking to make Dragon's Dogma a bit more appealing to newcomers with the addition of an "easy mode," Andriasang confirms. The May 2012 action-RPG performs some really cool tricks, such as allowing you to literally scale the backs of larger enemies, but the high level of challenge continues to be a barrier to entry for many players. I'm sure fans would love to see a quick travel option added as well in a future update, but "easy mode" update, out on August 6, is certainly welcome.

Also coming in the realm of all things Dragon's Dogma is a playable demo for PlayStation 3, which hits PSN on August 9. You'll be able to play through the game's opening, up through the battle with the hydra. This includes setting up your first pawn character, data that you'll be able to save and then transfer over to the full game, should you make the leap. It's not clear if the two release dates here apply to Japan only or if it's true for other regions as well, but we've reached out to Capcom for clarification.
